Now more options are beginning to emerge. Rep. Dean Phillips (D., Minn.) on Friday launched a quixotic bid to challenge Biden in New Hampshire’s unsanctioned Democratic primary, tapping into the frustration many voters have conveyed about the unfolding 2024 field and offering a window into what could be an unsettled presidential campaign next year with multiple third-party candidates.

The 54-year-old Phillips, after months of encouraging fellow Democrats to challenge Biden, has told people in his home state that he plans to announce his presidential campaign Friday in Concord, N.H., one of the people said. His visit is expected to come hours before the state’s primary ballot deadline.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Former President Donald Trump on Monday will formally file for the New Hampshire presidential primary ahead of a campaign rally in Derry. It will be Trump's second trip to the secretary of state's office. Eight years ago, he signed up for the 2016 contest on the first day of the filing period, then sent Vice President Mike Pence to file his paperwork for the 2020 primary. Candidates this year have until Oct. 27 to officially sign up, and dozens are expected to do so. In 2020, 33 Democrats and 17 Republicans signed up.

“The border has never been a money issue,” said Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas. It also suggests $1.4 billion to add 375 immigration judges and their teams in addition to money for 1,300 new border patrol agents. “But it’s got to be designed to secure the border, not to facilitate travel through the border,” he said. “No more money should be spent simply to facilitate current border policy.”It's unclear if compromise is possible on the issue.
