"This is part of the management actions that RBC is taking on the path to improving profitability at City National" an RBC spokesman told Reuters. RBC, which bought City National in 2015 for $5.4 billion, said in August that the subsidiary's losses in the third quarter stood at $38 million, compared with a profit of $102 million a year ago. RBC has also hired Greg Carmichael, the former CEO of U.S. regional lender Fifth Third Bancorp, to sit on City National's board.

Kraken will initially offer trading in the United States and the United Kingdom through a service built by a new division called Kraken Securities, and is targeting to launch the service in 2024, the report said. It already holds the required regulatory permits in the United Kingdom and has applied with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority for a broker-dealer license in the United States, the report added. Several of them are trying to get approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund.

Tesla shows interest in Sunrise New Energy's battery components

The China-based company, through its joint venture, manufactures and sells graphite anode material for lithium-ion batteries. Sunrise's joint venture is also constructing a 260,543 m2 manufacturing plant in China's Guizhou province. Sunrise said it had received request from Tesla's battery raw materials team to provide technology details, manufacture plans and available capacity for its products. Tesla has been making supply deals with lithium companies including Liontown Resources (LTR.AX) and Core Lithium (CXO.AX) to meet raw material demand for its vehicles.

REUTERS/Daniel Kramer Acquire Licensing RightsSept 12 (Reuters) - 2seventy bio (TSVT.O) said on Tuesday it plans to lay off about 40% of its workforce to lower costs and focus on the biotech firm's cancer cell therapy Abecma, lifting the company's shares more than 8% in premarket trade. The company added that CEO Nick Leschly will step down and transition to the role of chairman. Leschly was earlier the CEO of bluebird bio (BLUE.O) for 11 years, but changed role after the gene therapy maker's oncology portfolio was spun off from it as 2seventy. The company will now focus on another type of multiple myeloma patients, for which it expects approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in mid-December.

Some of the these eye products were labeled to contain silver, the FDA said, adding that long-term use of drugs containing silver can cause some areas of the skin and other body tissues, including in the eye, to permanently turn gray or blue-gray. CVS and Walgreens said they have stopped the sale of the unapproved eye drops, and that customers who purchased these products could return them for a full refund. The FDA warned that failure to correct the violations may result in legal action, including product seizure and court orders requiring the companies to stop manufacturing and distributing an unapproved product.
