A shooting in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles early Saturday morning has claimed the lives of at least three people and injured four, according to police. Beverly Crest is approximately 2 miles north of Beverly Hills. Calls about a multi-victim shooting in the 2700 block of Ellison Drive came in around 2:30 a.m, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement. The shooting took place during a party, NBC Los Angeles reported. Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to come forward.

Jan 23 (Reuters) - The video of Memphis police beating a Black man who died after a traffic stop on Jan. 7 reminded civil rights attorney Ben Crump of the assault on Rodney King, Crump said after viewing the police bodycam recording with the man's family on Monday. Crump said the video reminded him of how Los Angeles police repeatedly beat King in video captured by a witness in 1991, sparking protests and reforms in the department. "Regrettably, it reminded us of (the) Rodney King video," said Crump, who previously represented the families of George Floyd and Trayvon Martin. "Regrettably, unlike Rodney King, Tyre didn't survive." Nichols was less than 100 yards (meters) from home during the traffic stop and called out for this mother three times at the end of the video, Crump told a news conference.

A missing persons report was filed for rapper and singer Theophilus London after his family lost “complete contact” with him this year, authorities said Wednesday. London, 35, was last seen in Los Angeles’ Skid Row area in October, police said. “The person reporting and Theophilus’s family members lost complete contact with him in October of 2022,” Los Angeles police said in a statement. In a separate statement released Wednesday by Secretly, a music label that has worked with London, family members and friends reported that he was last spoken to in July, The Associated Press reported. The Washington Post found the man who encountered Elon Musk's security at a Los Angeles gas station. Collado told the Post that he arrived at the gas station while making deliveries and to visit a friend. In videos obtained by the Post from Collado himself, Collado can be seen walking in front of a car driven by Musk's security guard. The gas station manager told the Post that the South Pasadena Police Department responded to the incident. LOS ANGELES — The man involved in the shooting of Lady Gaga's dog walker during a robbery last year was sentenced Monday to 21 years in prison, officials said. James Howard Jackson, 20, pleaded no contest to the attempted murder charge and was immediately sentenced to prison, NBC Los Angeles reported. In August, almost four months after he was mistakenly freed from custody in Los Angeles, Jackson was captured and arrested in Palmdale, a city north of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
