During a recent Indeed Leadership Connect cohort, where like-minded TA leaders come together to share challenges and solutions, AI technology in recruiting was the main topic. How do hiring professionals respond to job candidates who are also using AI? When using AI tools to generate external-facing content, always include human oversight to mitigate the risk of irrelevant or biased content. This still saves time versus starting from scratch — and the more you use AI technology, the smarter it becomes. Key takeaways: Think beyond automation with AI; use the efficiency gains to rethink parts of your hiring process.

Stock futures were flat in overnight trading after the Dow Jones Industrial Average snapped a three-day winning streak. The S&P 500 declined about 0.2%, while the Nasdaq Composite added close to 0.3%. Investor attention remains fixated on third-quarter earnings season, with about one-fifth of the S&P 500 slated to report results this week. "It is good to see analysts getting realistic about 2025 earnings growth," she said. "However, at 15% earnings growth, we believe it is still too optimistic given the expectation for slower economic growth in 2025."

This article is part of "5G and Connectivity Playbook," a series exploring one of our time's most important tech innovations. But to get the most value out of it, organizations should focus on how it interacts with the complementary technologies surrounding it, Dan Crawford, a strategy manager at Cisco, said. BI spoke with Crawford about these challenges, the types of complementary technologies that can help companies boost connectivity, and how they could unlock 5G's full potential. What types of complementary technologies should companies focus on to enhance 5G's capabilities? How does breaking down siloes and focusing on complementary technology benefit businesses?

- | Afp | Getty ImagesMany investors worry about how the outcome of the presidential election will impact their investments. But there's another risk financial advisors are focused on — public debt, according to a new survey from Natixis Investment Managers. The term public debt is used interchangeably by the U.S. Treasury with national debt and federal debt. Experts say there are certain moves individual investors can make to limit the financial exposure they have to those broader risks. For investors who worry the country's debt may lead to slow growth, it can help to add international exposure to a portfolio, Cheng said.

The Summary New research offers insight into the evolutionary history of amylase genes, which are key to our ability to eat and digest starchy food. Amylase genes produce an enzyme in saliva and the gut that’s key to breaking down starches into sugar. New research published Thursday in the journal Science suggests the amylase gene has a much longer evolutionary history than scientists previously thought. Some studies have suggested that populations with higher numbers of amylase copies tend to eat more starch, though more research is needed to explore those theories. … There are things that just exist.”Both recent studies relied on a relatively new technology to analyze genetic material from ancient humans.

Small-cap stocks are looking very good right now. Lower rates can boost smaller companies by allowing them to borrow money for cheaper and expand their businesses. Smaller companies are more vulnerable to economic cycles. Despite this recently strong performance, small caps are still lagging their large-cap counterparts for the year. "Things were going okay before the election contracts, but since we put them on the platform there's been a lot more interest," Sanders said. The election contracts on each site are binary, and they pay out $1 if the correct outcome is chosen and $0 for the incorrect outcome. A fifth arena, Polymarket, is a blockchain-based prediction platform that is not open to U.S. customers. If they prove to be accurate over time, the prediction markets may also serve non-traders such as consultants and fundraisers who want to glean more insight into the election. Concerns More ominously, critics of the election markets have raised alarm that they could be moved by one or two big traders for possibly nefarious purposes.

The questionnaires, known as client intake forms, give rare insight into the practices of Sage and other crisis pregnancy centers and how they use ambiguous language to describe their services. These practices are typical for crisis pregnancy centers across the country, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The tactics used at crisis pregnancy centers often create delays that leave women unable to access abortions, forcing them to continue their pregnancies. Most crisis pregnancy centers in the United States are affiliated with either Heartbeat International or Care Net, another anti-abortion network.
