WASHINGTON — During Donald Trump’s White House tenure, Republicans assembled the most conservative Supreme Court in a century. Now, they’re excited about the prospect of building on those efforts by confirming even more conservative justices, as well as lower-court judges, if he wins another four years. Hawaii may be the happiest state in America, but according to a recently conducted study, the residents of Wyoming have the most positive outlook on life. The company polled 5,000 U.S. adults, including 100 participants from each state. The survey was also done in partnership with Dr. Deepika Chopra, a behavioral scientist who is commonly referred to as "The Optimism Doctor." "Scores were averaged together to provide a score of that state's optimism," according to the press release. Hawaii didn't make the top five on the list, despite being known for its stellar weather and happy residents.

CNN —Astronomers have observed a massive pair of jets releasing from a supermassive black hole 7.5 billion light-years from Earth. The megastructure spans 23 million light-years in length, making these black hole jets the largest ever seen, according to new research. Black hole jets can accelerate radiation and particles close to the speed of light, causing them to glow in wavelengths visible to radio telescopes. The man charged in connection with an apparent assassination attempt against Donald Trump in Florida this month dropped off a box at a person’s home that included a letter that declared, "This was an assassination attempt," a court document revealed Monday. The note came to light in a U.S. District Court filing asking that Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, be held in pre-trial detention. Law enforcement was contacted by a civilian on Sept. 18 who said that Routh had dropped off a box at his residence several months earlier, the filing said. The witness opened the box after learning of the Sept. 15 incident at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The area featured an opening in the bushes behind the palm trees, which is easily accessible from the public sidewalk.
