President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has agreed to plead guilty to charges that he willfully failed to pay federal income taxes.
Photo: Al Drago/Bloomberg NewsThe Justice Department said Tuesday that Hunter Biden would plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax offenses and enter a diversion program that would allow him to avoid a felony firearms conviction if he meets certain conditions.
If he successfully completes the program, he would serve no jail time for the firearms charge.
A judge will determine his sentence on the tax charges.
Tax prosecutions for misdemeanor charges, without other charges, rarely lead to prison time.
