Strategist Lori Calvasina issued a year-end 2025 target for the broad market index of 6,600. The S & P 500 has rallied 3.2% since Donald Trump secured a second presidential term, raising expectations of lower taxes and deregulation. To be sure, Calvasina thinks there will be 5%-10% correction in the near term before equities resume their march to all-time highs. Last week, Goldman Sachs set a 6,500 target for the S & P 500, while BMO issued a forecast for the benchmark index to surge all the way to 6,700 .

A food company is recalling a tortilla chip salad topper sold in 20 states after discovering it is contaminated with a wheat allergen. Sugar Foods is recalling 3.5 ounce bags of Fresh Gourmet Tortilla Strips Santa Fe Style, the Food and Drug Administration said in a release Friday. "People who have a wheat allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product," the FDA release said. Those who bought the recalled Tortilla Strips can return them to their place of purchase for a full refund or throw them away. Organic carrots sold at major grocery chains like Trader Joe's and Wegmans were recalled due to a possible E.coli contamination.

The box office this weekend will be painted pink and green, with a splash of red. Universal’s “Wicked” and Paramount’s “Gladiator II” arrive ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday and are expected to tally more than $200 million in combined ticket sales this weekend. Whatever it hauls in for the weekend, “Wicked” should debut as the highest-opening Broadway adaptation in cinematic history. Meanwhile, “Gladiator II” tallied $6.5 million from Thursday previews and is expected to add between $60 million and $80 million to the domestic weekend tally. Cinemark has a “Gladiator II” popcorn bucket shaped like the Colosseum and a gladiator helmet that fits over its drink cups to hold popcorn.
