A day after its sharpest rally since 2013, Tesla's stock on Friday headed for its highest close in more than a year as investors and analysts continued to applaud the electric vehicle company's third-quarter results. Tesla shares rose 2.8% on Friday morning to $267.79, putting the stock on pace for its highest finish since September 2023. DETROIT — Automaker Stellantis plans to shutter and sell its large vehicle proving grounds in Arizona at the end of this year, CNBC has learned. The Arizona Proving Grounds covers 4,000 acres between Phoenix and Las Vegas in Yucca, Arizona. As of July 2019, the operations employed 69 people, including workers represented by a local chapter of the UAW, according to the automaker. Stellantis plans to use a proving grounds in Arizona owned by Toyota Motor beginning next year, according to two people familiar with the decision. Stellantis’ other major U.S. proving grounds facility is a 4,000-acre campus located west of Detroit in Chelsea, Michigan.

A gruesome death that was initially reported to be a bear attack is now being investigated by Montana authorities as a vicious homicide. The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office in Montana received a call around 10 a.m. Saturday regarding the discovery of a dead man in a tent 2.5 miles up Moose Creek Road. The caller indicated that the death may have been caused by a bear attack. Evidence gathered through an autopsy further indicated that this was a homicide,” the sheriff’s office said. Authorities described the incident as a “vicious attack” and said detectives are working to develop and track down leads.

On Saturday morning, the friend called 911 and said he’d found Kjersem’s bloodied body in a tent about two-and-a-half miles up Moose Creek Road, east of Big Sky. Kjersem’s friend, who authorities did not identify, told them he found his body around 10 a.m. Saturday. “Anyone with trail or game cameras in the Moose Creek area, please reach forward, even if the footage seems irrelevant,” Sheriff’s Capt. “Anyone with in-car cameras traveling in the Moose Creek area during this time frame … anyone who saw the victim’s truck,” he added. Investigators have not determined Kjersem’s time of death and have not made any arrests.
