Disney's board dramatically reinstated Iger as CEO last month amid broader dissatisfaction with Chapek's leadership. Other execs were considering leaving if Chapek stayed in the CEO role, a senior figure at Disney told Insider, expressing frustration with his leadership and decision-making. He was criticized internally and by industry figures for making decisions without enough information, the Disney insider told Insider last month. Disney and Iger were not immediately available to respond to Insider's request for comment made outside of US working hours.

Beijing, which has some of China's strictest Covid barriers for entry, has seen the number of infections rise after the national Golden Week holidays at the start of this month. For Oct. 25, the city reported 19 symptomatic cases and one asymptomatic infection, while the country reported a total of 1,407 new cases, the highest count in 12 days.
