The new documentary “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” reconstructs his life and career, ultimately rendering a sensitive, harrowing and incredibly human portrait of the man as actor, advocate, husband and father. “You don’t overcome grief, you live with grief,” Bonhôte said in a recent interview with CNN. Reeve also worked with the American Paralysis Association, which soon became the Christopher Reeve Foundation. Ettedgui, who identifies himself as “definitely a Superman kid,” was moved by Reeve’s obvious effect on those around him, but was also “struck” by his internal journey. 24-year-old American actor Christopher Reeve plays the comic-book hero as he mends a broken railway track in a scene from the film "Superman."

PHILADELPHIA — Vice President Kamala Harris will take questions from three members of the National Association of Black Journalists on Tuesday, six weeks after former President Donald Trump questioned her ethnicity and clashed with a journalist at the organization’s national convention in Chicago. But it is not an official campaign event, and it is open only to select NABJ members and 100 students from historically Black colleges and universities. “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black,” Trump said, drawing gasps. “NABJ does not endorse political candidates as a journalism organization,” NABJ President Ken Lemon said in a statement last week. The interview with Vice President Harris is designed to inform the public and give our members access to help inform their reporting.

New York CNN —Federal Reserve officials won’t say how former President Donald Trump winning a second term could impact the economy. But transcripts of closed-door Fed meetings from Trump’s first term give some clues about top economists’ true feelings about Trump’s economic agenda. “We don’t want to be involved … in politics in any way,” Powell said after July’s monetary policy meeting. The transcripts of past meetings that are publicly available, the most recent being from the December 2018 monetary policy meeting, suggest that some Fed officials had legitimate concerns about Trump’s trade policy and its impact on the economy. ‘Ill-conceived US government policies’At later meetings, as the Trump administration began to set the stage for a potential trade war with China, Fed officials started to sound more concerned.

The Saints, one week after blowing out the lowly Carolina Panthers, did the same in Dallas to the high-flying Cowboys. The Ravens were in control for most of the game and then Davante Adams and Brock Bowers took over. The Ravens aren’t built to win when their defense softens — but that isn’t to say they won’t find ways to play the kind of defense the Ravens are known for. Meanwhile, the Saints’ defense denied the Cowboys on all three trips inside the red zone and recorded two takeaways. The spokesperson declined to offer additional details, including the names of the officers who pulled Hill over and handcuffed the players, citing an ongoing internal affairs investigation. “I don’t want to speak for him, but it certainly felt like he wasn’t treated fairly,” Rosenhaus told NBC South Florida on Sunday. “Things escalated out of control.”A police union representative said Monday that Hill wasn’t cooperative and that he refused “to sit on the curb,” leading to his being “redirected” to the ground. The officer who has been put on administrative duty is a 25-year veteran of the department, according to the union. “When the officers were trying to talk to him, he was being very uncooperative,” Steadman Stahl, president of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association, told NBC South Florida.

Hill is heard saying “I’m getting arrested” multiple times, and the one officer physically restraining him says, “When we tell you to do something, you do it. Hill told “The Source with Kaitlan Collins” on Monday he was still shell-shocked by the encounter. NFL star Tyreek Hill speaks out after police release bodycam video of his detention before the Miami Dolphin’s season-opener. Former President Donald Trump will not be sentenced in his New York criminal hush money case until after the Nov. 5 presidential election, a judge ruled Friday. The sentencing, which was set for Sept. 18, will instead take place on Nov. 26, Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan ruled. The Supreme Court's ruling had already spurred Merchan to delay Trump's sentencing, which was originally scheduled for July 11, by more than two months. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung in a statement Friday said, "There should be no sentencing in the Manhattan DA's Election Interference Witch Hunt." "As mandated by the United States Supreme Court, this case, along with all of the other Harris - Biden Hoaxes, should be dismissed," Cheung said.

Trump had requested the delay to avoid the "politically prejudicial" impact a public sentencing could have on the election. The sentencing might not happen at all if Merchan's next major hush-money decision, now due November 12, overturns Trump's verdict or the indictment itself on presidential-immunity grounds. But Trump would have had to suffer — in person — through the sentencing proceeding itself. Only after sentencing would Trump have faced the possible loss of his liquor licenses in New Jersey. Trump has fought to overturn his conviction on immunity-based challenges lodged in state court and in federal court.

I live in the great state of New York, where online sports gambling has been legal since 2022. Different state, different gambling rulesMy trash-chute gambling pilgrimage is specific to me, but it represents one of the many quirks of the legalized gambling industry. When you're in New York, you're not allowed to bet on in-state colleges. Leagues love gambling, until they don'tBut what makes this new era of sports gambling particularly confusing is the relationship between sportsbooks and the leagues they're setting lines for. Yet despite all the promotion (and sponsorship money) touting sports gambling, athletes betting on their own games is still very much banned.

Read previewIn recent days, Jeff Walz — the conservative older brother of the vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz — has become something of a fascination on the right. "We've just become a third world banana republic," Jeff Walz wrote that day. That generated speculation on the right that Walz's brother was prepared to reveal damning information about the Minnesota governor. As an example, he said that his younger brother would sometimes "throw up" on his siblings during road trips because of car sickness. Tim Walz's brother, Jeff Walz, says his Facebook comment declaring he's “100% opposed to all” of Gov.
