CNN —Ethel Kennedy, the widow of former US Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and a longtime human rights activist, died Thursday, her family said. Former Massachusetts Rep. Joe Kennedy III announced the news of his grandmother’s passing on X. Ethel Kennedy was hospitalized after suffering a stroke last week. Photographs of the shooting aftermath show Ethel Kennedy, leaning over her husband with her hands over his chest as he bled onto the floor. In the decades following her husband’s death, Ethel Kennedy emerged as an environmental and human rights activist in her own right, founding the nonprofit organization Robert F. MINNEAPOLIS — Napheesa Collier had 27 points and 11 rebounds and Courtney Williams contributed 24 points and both-ends-of-the-court energy to lead the Minnesota Lynx past the Connecticut Sun 88-77 and into the WNBA Finals for the first time in seven years on Tuesday night. The best-of-five series continues with Game 2 in New York on Sunday afternoon, before Minnesota hosts Game 3 on Oct. 16. Connecticut eliminated Minnesota here in the decisive Game 3 of the first round last season. Since winning Game 5 of the WNBA Finals in 2017 for their fourth championship in seven years, the Lynx were just 1-4 in winner-take-all games in the playoffs. CNN —GSK has agreed to pay up to $2.2 billion to settle most lawsuits in US state courts claiming that a discontinued version of the heartburn drug Zantac caused cancer, the company announced on Wednesday. GSK also said it would pay $70 million to settle a related whistleblower lawsuit filed by a Connecticut laboratory. Pfizer has agreed to settle most of the Zantac cases against it in state court, according to its most recent financial statement, and Sanofi in April announced that it was settling about 4,000 cases. Boehringer Ingelheim has not announced any major settlements, but is currently facing a trial over the drug in Oakland, California, state court. A majority of the remaining state court cases are in Delaware, where a judge in June allowed plaintiffs to present crucial expert testimony that Zantac caused cancer.

Billionaire investor Ray Dalio thinks it's still tricky to invest in China right now as Beijing may be seeking to structurally move the country away from capitalism. "There's something big going on that they had a debt crisis and they also had a capitalism crisis. The high-profile investor even said he is raising his usual allocation limit and is not hedging his big China bet. Dalio said he doesn't expected big rate cuts as the economy remains in solid shape.
