AdvertisementJob seekers may face 'love-bombing' from hiring managers during interviews. If a hiring manager is excessively complimenting you and telling you you're the top candidate during an interview, you may be being "love-bombed." Many job seekers complain of inconsistent behavior from hiring managers, CNBC reported, being flattered and praised one minute and ghosted the next. "They may overhype your chances to keep you interested," Barber said. It may not always be a scheme, though, and some recruiters and hiring managers may be love-bombing without realizing it.

5 big questions about how tech will look under Trump

He sought to swat down legal protections for tech platforms. Many Republicans are eager to see the Trump administration address what they see as “censorship” of right-leaning voices by many mainstream social media platforms. That could mean reforming or reinterpreting Section 230, which shields tech platforms from liability for their users’ posts and allows the platforms to moderate content as they see fit. In essence, Carr could attempt to pass a rule that would make it possible to sue tech platforms under that new interpretation. Ultimately, that could mean hamstringing tech companies’ efforts to reduce hateful or false content on their platforms.

A coalition of Canada’s biggest news organizations is suing OpenAI, the maker of the artificial intelligence chatbot, ChatGPT, accusing the company of illegally using their content in the first case of its kind in the country. Five of the country’s major news companies, including the publishers of its top newspapers, newswires and the national broadcaster, filed the joint suit in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on Friday morning. While this is the first such lawsuit in Canada, it is similar to a suit brought against OpenAI and Microsoft in the United States in 2023 by The New York Times, claiming copyright infringement of news content related to A.I. The two companies have denied the suit’s claims. In response to the Canadian lawsuit, a spokesman for OpenAI said “We have not yet had the opportunity to review the allegations,” but added that “our models are trained on publicly available data, grounded in fair use and related international copyright principles that are fair for creators and support innovation.”

Albuquerque, New Mexico AP —Jurors in New Mexico have awarded a man more than $412 million in a medical malpractice case that involved a men’s health clinic that operates in several states. The man’s attorneys celebrated Monday’s verdict, saying they are hopeful it will prevent other men from falling victim to a scheme that involved fraud and what they described as dangerous penile injections. That is a very egregious breach of their fiduciary duty,” said Lori Bencoe, one of the lawyers who represented the plaintiff. The clinic is accused of misdiagnosing him and unnecessarily treating him with “invasive erectile dysfunction shots” that caused irreversible damage. According to court records, jurors found that fraudulent and negligent conduct by the defendants resulted in damages to the plaintiff.
