Nvidia reported fiscal third-quarter results on Wednesday for the period ending in October with sales beating analyst expectations but earnings per share coming in light. A brighter spot was Nvidia's data center business, which reported $3.83 billion in sales, up 31% year-over-year. Nvidia attributed the growth to sales to U.S. cloud service providers and consumer internet companies. Nvidia said that the reduced sales from the GPUs barred in China would be largely offset by its alternative products. The company's "other" category reported $73 million in revenue.
That said, encouragingly, the team expects Gaming inventory levels to approach normal levels as we enter calendar year 2023. Fourth quarter guidance was underwhelming, but it was encouraging to hear management say they expect to see sequential growth in Data Center, Gaming, and Automotive. Segment Q3 sales Data Center revenue grew 31% to $3.83 billion, a tad short versus the $3.84 billion consensus. Gaming revenue fell 51% to $1.57 billion, but it was better than expectations of $1.33 billion. Capital Allocation In its fiscal third quarter, Nvidia returned a total of $3.75 billion to shareholders via dividends and buybacks.

In 2021, Partners Group made four digital infrastructure investments, including acquiring atNorth, the largest data center operator in Iceland. AMD/Handout via REUTERSNov 10 (Reuters) - Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD.O) launched its latest data center chip on Thursday and said Microsoft Corp's (MSFT.O) Azure, Alphabet-owned (GOOGL.O) Google Cloud and Oracle Corp would be some of its customers. "What that means for enterprises and for cloud data centers is that it translates into lower capex, lower opex and lower total cost of ownership," she said. Genoa launches at a time when rival Intel Corp's (INTC.O) latest data center chip, code named Sapphire Rapids, has struggled with delays. "IDC expects AMD will stay on track, continue building up market share in public cloud deployments," said Ashish Nadkarni, datacenter and cloud analyst at IDC.

Microsoft said it introduced licensing changes this fall that give customers and cloud providers more options for running and offering its software. BRUSSELS— Microsoft Corp. faces an antitrust complaint from a European industry group over its cloud services, adding to recent allegations of anticompetitive behavior against the U.S. tech company. Cloud Infrastructure Service Providers in Europe, or Cispe, a trade group which includes Amazon.com Inc. among its members, said it filed the complaint with the bloc’s competition regulator, the European Commission, on Tuesday. The complaint alleges that Microsoft uses its dominance in productivity software to direct customers in Europe to its Azure cloud service and makes it difficult for them to switch to other cloud service providers, the trade group said.
BRUSSELS, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Microsoft (MSFT.O) faces a new antitrust complaint over its cloud computing practices as trade group CISPE, whose members include Amazon (AMZN.O), took its grievance to European Union antitrust regulators on Wednesday. CISPE has alleged that Microsoft's new contractual terms imposed on Oct. 1 together with other practices are irreparably damaging the European cloud computing ecosystem. Amazon is the market leader in the cloud computing sector, followed by Microsoft and Alphabet unit Google . Rivals Amazon.com (AMZN.O), Alphabet's (GOOGL.O) Google, Alibaba (9988.HK) and Microsoft's own cloud services however are excluded from the changes. The Commission could also add another provision to newly adopted tech rules, known as the Digital Markets Act, prohibiting cloud computing gatekeepers from favouring their software applications, CISPE said.
Oct 27 (Reuters) - Chipmaker Intel Corp (INTC.O) on Thursday cut its full-year profit and revenue forecast and warned it would lay off staff, but a stronger-than-expected performance at its personal computers segment helped send shares higher. Intel also cut its capital spending forecast for this fiscal year to $25 billion from a previous forecast of $27 billion. Intel has been losing market share in the data center market and Gelsinger said it lost market share again in the third quarter. But he said Intel gained "meaningful" market share improvement in the PC segment in the third quarter. Intel trimmed its full-year adjusted earnings per share forecast to $1.95 from $2.30.
