London CNN —Prince William will miss a memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece because of a personal matter, a royal source has told CNN. The Prince of Wales, 41, had been expected to attend the remembrance event at Windsor Castle on Tuesday. King Charles III is also absent from the service as he continues his treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. After a military coup in 1967, Constantine and his family fled to Rome, and the military regime appointed a regent to take his place. The Greek monarchy was abolished on June 1, 1973, when the military regime proclaimed the country a republic – a decision that was backed by a subsequent referendum.

Where markets go next may well depend on how Nvidia does after going forward. "The answer here will depend on NVDA," Tom Essaye of The Sevens Report wrote in a Thursday note. "The stock is at an all-time high ... and if it can hold (or extend) this rally ... it'll imply that tech can help lead this market higher." “And, I think, Camilla, Queen Camilla, has certainly earned the respect that she’s receiving. Prince William also took time off to support his wife, though he is now back at work. Camilla has helped pick up the slack, demonstrating the importance of her rehabilitation to Charles and the royal family. But the public mood has softened since Charles married the woman then known as Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005. Sandringham, the private home of the last six British monarchs, sits amid parkland, gardens and working farms about 110 miles (180 kilometers) north of London. This history has made Sandringham a special place for Charles and his entire family. One of the most famous stately homes in Britain, Sandringham sits on an 8,000-hectare (20,000-acre) estate in Norfolk on the eastern coast of England. On the day he died, George reportedly spent the afternoon on the estate with his dogs and a gun. When he was at Cambridge, Charles would often invite friends to spend weekends with him enjoying the shooting at Sandringham.

The pomp, the glamour, the conflicts, the characters: When it comes to Britain's royal family, Americans can't seem to get enough. That was evident this week following the announcement of King Charles III's treatment for cancer. They're references for power and prestige, like Aretha Franklin as the “Queen of Soul” or the administration of John F. Kennedy as Camelot. There was a social and cultural element as well: In the 19th century, some rich Americans would find husbands for their daughters among the British aristocracy. And of course, the 20th century has plenty of examples of music, television, etc., that traveled between the two societies.

Despite all the scandals and tragedies, the royal lifestyle in “The Crown” looked enviably lavish. During six seasons, Queen Elizabeth II rode around London in a golden carriage, pulled by six horses. For most viewers, watching the show, which ended in December, was the closest they could get to the trappings of royal life. Those include two porcelain corgis that appeared on the queen’s writing desk ($380) and the Queen Mother’s drinks tray and champagne swizzle stick ($101). The version of the revenge dress that Elizabeth Debicki wears on “The Crown” has an estimated lot price of $10,000 to $15,000 in the Bonhams sale.
