CNN —Ryan Garcia has been expelled by the World Boxing Council (WBC) following a social media livestream where he repeatedly used racist and discriminatory language against Black people and Muslims, per the Associated Press. “Exercising my authority as president of the WBC, I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization,” WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I was trolling I want all the killing to stop,” Garcia posted, per the Associated Press. CNN —A man has been arrested after he climbed onto the roof of the BVB Stadion in Dortmund during Germany’s last-16 match against Denmark at Euro 2024, police said. Social media clips show a man climbing in the rafters of the stadium dressed in black with his face covered. He was arrested at 11:44 p.m. local time, police said, after complying with police requests and was found with camera equipment in his bag. UEFA – European football’s governing body – said stadium safety and security was the “ultimate priority” for them, the German football association and tournament organizers. “UEFA would like to commend the police, stadium and local authorities for their co-operation in the incident last night in Dortmund involving an individual arrested by the police on the stadium roof,” UEFA told CNN in a statement.

Defender Chris Richards and striker Folarin Balogun posted on their Instagram stories the racist messages they had received over the social media platform. Earlier in June, soccer’s global governing body FIFA reinforced its commitment to fighting online abuse, in particular through its Social Media Protection Service (SMPS). CNN —The PGA Tour announced on Tuesday it had created a special exemption for Tiger Woods alone, allowing for qualification to certain events on its schedule. The 15-time major champion is tied for the most ever PGA Tour victories with Sam Snead. The eight ‘Signature Events’ on the PGA Tour are the marquee tournaments on the tour’s schedule, boasting increased prize money and more FedExCup points up for grabs. The 48-year-old has played in only four tournaments this year: The Genesis Invitational and the three majors. The other change which the PGA Tour announced on Tuesday was that all ‘Signature Events’ would have a minimum field of 72 players.

CNN —The USA achieved a historic milestone after advancing to the next stage of the men’s T20 Cricket World Cup after its game against Ireland on Friday was abandoned due to a wet outfield, according to the International Cricket Council.
