CNN —A “mesmerizing” electric blue tarantula species has been discovered in Thailand, according to new research. “(We found) a new species of tarantula that exhibits a mesmerizing blue-violet hue, reminiscent of electric blue sparks,” Narin Chomphuphuang, a researcher at Khon Kaen University’s Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, told CNN Monday. “Blue is one of the rarest colors to appear in nature, which makes blue coloration in animals particularly fascinating,” Chomphuphuang said. Electric Blue Tarantula,” but without any information on its characteristics or natural habitats. However, with the decline of mangrove forests – largely caused by deforestation – Chomphuphuang says the electric blue tarantula is also one of the world’s rarest tarantulas.

Embattled Bamboo, Vietnam's No. "Bamboo Airways has reduced a number of pilot personnel recently to serve this goal," the statement said, denying that late payments of salaries were the reason behind the departures. Many staff at Bamboo have sometimes had to face delays in salary payments but this had not, until recently, affected foreign pilots who make up a large majority of the airline's pilot staff, the sources said. Messages seen by Reuters from an internal company chat forum that management uses to communicate with foreign pilots show some salary payments have been late. Love it or hate it, self-care has transformed from a radical feminist concept into a multibillion-dollar industry. In 2021, 34 percent of women reported feeling burned out at work, along with 26 percent of men. CNN —Giant pandas living in captivity could be suffering from “jet lag” if their body clocks don’t match their environments, scientists say. “This is definitely a concept that could apply to all captive animals,” Gandia told CNN. Giant pandas were chosen as the focus for the study partly because they live highly seasonal lives. Gandia explained to CNN that the latitudinal range for giant pandas is between 26 and 42 degrees north. A team of 13 observers, led by Gandia, monitored 11 giant pandas at six different zoos, all of which were born in captivity.

There are several ways the Japanese serve and cook soba, a nutty-tasting, brilliantly slurpable noodle made of buckwheat flour. I was seduced, so I went back the next day, again joining the long lunch line and, again, ordering my cold soba, with a serving of tempura shrimp. Buckwheat flour on its own is expensive, and the noodles it produces tend to be brittle. Commercial dried soba noodles manage to retain some of that texture and much of the flavor, as long as they are not overcooked. Once cooked and refreshed, your soba noodles can go into a cold broth, as they do in this recipe.

When the earth seized his house and shook it late Friday night, Mohamed Abarada ran outside with his 9-month-old daughter in his arms. Mr. Abarada started digging with his bare hands. The week after devastating wildfires swept across Maui, Hōkūlani Holt walked to the center of a grassy courtyard about 12 miles from Lahaina, just over the island’s steep mountains. Velo Cuba, a bike shop and tour company, produces the lightweight, eco-friendly options as part of a program funded by the Netherlands' embassy in the country. "There are 28 species of bamboo in Cuba," said Velo Cuba founder Nayvis Diaz. CNN —A giant panda at a South Korean zoo has given birth to the country’s first twin cubs. The palm-sized female pandas were born at the Everland Resort theme park southeast of the capital Seoul on July 7, the zoo said in a statement Tuesday. The twins’ birth is considered rare – there’s less than a 50% chance of pandas giving birth to twins – and in the wild, they struggle to survive as mothers can often only care for one of their cubs. A caretaker carries panda cub Fu Bao, about 100 days after her birth in 2020. It is estimated that around 1,800 pandas remain in the wild, mostly in the mountains of Sichuan, western China.
