"The Bay Area has consistently been one of the most expensive markets in the country," said Daryl Fairweather, chief economist at Redfin. Why the New York metro area is low on the listMidtown Manhattan, New York, as seen from Hoboken, New Jersey. That's because the metro area goes beyond Manhattan and the city's four other boroughs, extending into nearby counties. "Even though Manhattan is really expensive, once you get to the outlying areas [in] the New York metro area, it actually becomes quite affordable," said Fairweather. Interested homebuyers in the region still need to earn six figures annually to afford a home, about $197,734, Redfin estimates.

CNN —The National Hockey League (NHL) has changed its approach to the use of rainbow-colored stick tape often used to show support for the LGBTQ+ community and inclusion within the game. On Tuesday, the league announced it would now allow players to use products like Pride Tape during practices, warm-ups and games. “After consultation with the NHL Players’ Association and the NHL Player Inclusion Coalition, Players will now have the option to voluntarily represent social causes with their stick tape throughout the season,” an NHL statement read. Dermott displayed a small amount of Pride Tape on the handle of his hockey stick on Saturday, becoming the first player to go against the ban. Thank you Travis!”Following the NHL’s reversal Tuesday, Pride Tape posted: “We are so very grateful to everyone who believes hockey should be a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for all.

October 22 - For the Boston Bruins, embarking on a four-game road trip so early in the NHL season has its benefits. Captain Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak each had three-point games, giving each points in every game this season. Additionally, Morgan Geekie netted his first goal with the Bruins, and Derek Forbort dished out two assists. Former President Trump remains well ahead of his fellow Republican presidential contenders. But Nikki Haley is in a solid position in both GOP statewide polling and general election matchups. As other candidates leave the race, Haley's viability as a top Trump alternative will likely strengthen. Meanwhile, Haley's stock may be low, but very importantly it's up: she's averaging around 8% in the FiveThirtyEight GOP polling average, up from 3% at the beginning of August. Though most in his party have stayed quiet, Trump's comments about Milley horrified some Republicans. The move comes weeks after Digital World investors voted to give up to a one-year extension to complete the much-delayed deal. The blank-check firm amended the merger agreement on Sept. 29, according to the filing, which also disclosed that Digital World can terminate the agreement only in that three-week period in November. Digital World has faced a series of challenges since it stuck a merger deal with Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) on October 2021. DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Former President Donald Trump heads to southeast Iowa Sunday in the middle of a fall campaign push aimed at locking in supporters with large organizing events. As he has with his other recent travels to the leadoff caucus state, Trump will campaign in an area that formerly supported Democrats but has embraced him. Trump was planning to headline an afternoon event in Ottumwa, where his campaign was expecting more than 1,000 potential supporters. The small city is a hub in eastern Iowa and the seat of Wapello County, one of 31 counties Trump carried in 2016 that Democrat Barack Obama had won four years earlier. Trump, the first Republican to capture the county since the Eisenhower administration, campaigned the week before in northeast Iowa.
