The Atlanta division of the FBI has identified remains found in a Georgia landfill as those of toddler Quinton Simon, bringing an end to the weeks-long search for the child that garnered national attention. The Chatham County District Attorney’s Office is continuing to investigate the case against the toddler's mother, the FBI said. Quinton Simon. Simon reported Quinton missing Oct. 5 from his home in an unincorporated part of the county near Savannah, police have said. On Oct. 12 Chatham County police announced they believed Quinton was dead and named his mother as the primary suspect.
Odell Beckham Jr. was escorted off of an American Airlines flight by police Sunday morning after crew members who tried to wake him up before departure grew concerned because he "appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness," according to officials. The Miami-Dade Police Department responded to American Airlines flight 1228 in Miami, bound for Los Angeles, at around 9:30 a.m. after flight attendants called for help out of fear that Beckham Jr. was ill and "his condition would worsen through the expected 5 hour flight," police said. "Upon the officers arrival, the flight crew asked Mr. Beckham several times to exit the aircraft, which he refused," police said in a statement. In a tweet published Sunday morning, Beckham Jr. said "Never in my life have I experienced what just happened to me… I’ve seen it alll..""Never. Representatives for Beckham Jr. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
More than 2,500 flights into or out of U.S. airports were delayed as of late Sunday morning during the post-Thanksgiving travel rush as severe weather, including rain, heavy winds and snow, swept through major cities. On Sunday morning, rain pounded the Southeast, mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes regions, threatening morning travel for cities such as Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Nashville and Charlotte, North Carolina. Storm totals will range from 0.5 to 1.25 inches of rain across the eastern third of the country. Snowfall totals will range from 6 to 12 inches, with localized higher amounts possible in the higher elevations, according to the weather service. Looking ahead, this storm system will bring an enhanced risk for severe weather across the Middle and Lower Mississippi Valley on Tuesday.

The suspect in the Club Q mass shooting changed his name just before he turned 16, court documents show. The 21-year-old man was booked on suspicion of two counts of felony menacing and three counts of first degree kidnapping. Police would also not officially link the shooting suspect to the case involving an Anderson Lee Aldrich, then 21. The suspect, identified by authorities as Aldrich, was arrested on suspicion of five counts of first-degree murder and five counts of bias-motivated or hate crimes. One man was killed and 16 people were injured Monday morning after an SUV drove into a Massachusetts Apple store, officials said. Responding officers found multiple people with injuries in and around the Apple store at the outdoor mall, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said during a news conference on the incident. A dark-colored SUV smashed through the quintessential large glass windows at the Apple store at a speed that is unknown at this time, striking multiple people, Cruz said. Authorities didn't comment on how crowded the store was at the time of the incident, but Cruz mentioned "obviously the Apple Store is a very busy place." An upstate off-duty New York police officer fatally shot a 27-year-old woman before she turned the gun on herself and took her own life Monday, Rochester police said. Tiffani Gatson, 29, an officer with the Greece Police Department, shot two women at a Rochester home before she died by suicide. Greece is a suburb of Rochester, in western New York on Lake Ontario. Gatson, who had been an officer in Greece since September 2018, was off duty at the time, Greece police said. Gatson was the first African American woman to join the Greece Police Department in 2019, WHEC reported.
Jay Leno has third-degree burns to his face and may need skin grafts after a garage fire where one of his cars erupted in flames, a source close to the comedian told NBC News on Tuesday. There was a fuel leak and gasoline sprayed on his face before a spark triggered the fire. Leno was burned on the left side of his face and his hands, said the source, who saw him on Saturday after the incident. He's receiving hyperbaric treatment, an oxygen therapy that "can accelerate burn wound healing," according to the Grossman Burn Center's website. “Jay is the kind of guy that is that likes to get up and go but they need to treat him," the source said.
Police in Idaho have arrested a woman in connection with the disappearance of 6-year-old Michael Vaughan, who has been missing for over a year, officials said. Michael Vaughan. Police in Georgia have arrested a man for allegedly breeding and training 106 pit bulls for dog fighting, according to a news release. Some of the pit bulls were emaciated while others were very strong and aggressive towards other dogs, according to police. Dog collars seized in connection with a Georgia man who was arrested for allegedly breeding and training over 100 pit bulls for dog fighting. Burrell was arrested without incident and charged with felony counts of cruelty to animals and dog fighting. Paulding County authorities including the sheriff's office and the marshal's bureau have secured multiple search warrants for Burrell's home and are investigating.
A Frontier Airlines flight bound for Tampa changed course Friday night after an unruly passenger was discovered with a box cutter, according to officials. After the suspect was taken into custody and searched, a second box cutter was found in their carry-on, according to the agency. The plane was then "diverted to Atlanta after a passenger on board the aircraft was observed in possession of a box cutter," according to a statement from the airline shared with NBC News. Frontier Airlines didn't provide any additional information on the incident, but according to the Transportation Security Administration, there had been a disturbance involving the passenger in possession of the box cutter. "FBI and Atlanta Police Department responded to the incident, took the suspect into custody and the flight was canceled."
Police in Colorado arrested a man in connection to a shooting that left a 12-year-old dead and a 14-year-old injured on Saturday. Rolando Felipe, 18, was arrested Saturday night at around 10:30p.m. The 12-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later while the 14-year-old "remains hospitalized with serious injuries." Later that night, Felipe, who is known to the victims, was arrested by the police department. Charges against Felipe will be filed with the Arapahoe County 18th Judicial District, who did not immediately return requests for comment.
