CNN —Just 11 weeks after new New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers had surgery to repair his torn left Achilles tendon, head coach Robert Saleh announced the soon-to-be 40-year-old could now return to practice. Rodgers could participate in limited practices that include throwing to teammates but would not include any contact, Saleh said. According to NFL.com, the Jets have 21-day window to evaluate Rodgers in practice while he remains on the injured reserve list. “If the answer is no, then I gotta listen to my body.” Aaron Rodgers on TuesdayThe 4-7 Jets have six games left in the regular season. News of Rodgers’ seemingly miraculous recovery has social media abuzz, with even NBA superstar LeBron James marveling at the quarterback’s possible return.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Aaron Rodgers' improbable comeback from a torn Achilles tendon has taken the next step. The New York Jets opened the 21-day practice window for the quarterback on Wednesday — exactly 11 weeks after he had surgery — with Rodgers cleared for some football activities. Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon four snaps into his debut with the Jets on Sept. 11 and had surgery two days later. Sure, but that's OK. That's his ‘why’ — that's why he's (doing it). “I promise Aaron is not going to do anything that puts himself in harm’s way if he's not healthy to play,” Saleh said.

REUTERS/Rula Rouhana Acquire Licensing RightsMUMBAI, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Advocates for the energy transition are concerned ahead of the COP28 summit in Dubai about the high cost of capital available to make change happen, as policymakers ratchet up their rhetoric on the need for tight monetary policy. COP28 is widely expected to focus on climate finance, specifically to build on the G20 nations' commitment to triple renewables deployment to about 11,000 gigawatts by 2030, which will need funds of around $4.5 trillion. Climate finance is going to be the "Achilles' heel" of COP28, said Vaibhav Chaturvedi, fellow at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). Linda-Eling Lee, head of the MSCI Sustainability Institute, said companies and investors cannot be expected to commit long-term capital to the energy transition if policymakers change track suddenly. Agreements on greater transparency in disclosures, along with innovations in finance, will help mobilise more private sector funds, Lee said.

Cairo Santos made a 30-yard field goal with 10 seconds left, his fourth of the night after a miss on the opening drive, and the Bears had four interceptions of Joshua Dobbs in a defense-dominated 12-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday. Moore for 36 yards put the ball at the 13 with 55 seconds left to set up the winning kick. The Bears (4-8) stopped a 12-game NFC North losing streak, including six in a row against the Vikings (6-6). Dobbs threw the go-ahead score to T.J. Hockenson with 5:54 left, but the Vikings stalled out again after that at the worst possible time. That set up the first field goal by Santos, who missed a 48-yard try on the first drive.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Miami safety Jevon Holland called the MetLife Stadium turf “trash” after teammate Jaelan Phillips injured his right Achilles tendon in the Dolphins' 34-13 win over the New York Jets on Friday. Phillips was carted from the field late in the fourth quarter, a non-contact injury that reignited the turf-vs.-grass debate among players. MetLife Stadium changed its surface — which had been widely criticized because of injuries — before this season. Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert was a member of the San Francisco 49ers when he was injured in 2020 and teammates Solomon Thomas, now with the Jets, and Nick Bosa both suffered season-ending injuries on the previous MetLife Stadium turf. We've got to do something about this turf and this playing surface.

Tagovailoa finished 21 of 30 for 243 yards with the TD to Hill and the two INTs. Hill's touchdown catch was his 10th of the season, making him the first Dolphins player since Mike Wallace in 2014 to have double-digit TD receptions. Reed intercepted Tagovailoa on the Dolphins' next possession, giving the Jets the ball at their 49 with 2 seconds left. Mostert's 13-yard touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter gave the Dolphins a 27-6 lead — and tempers flared after that. Tim Boyle will be the New York Jets’ starting quarterback against the Miami Dolphins on Friday, two people familiar with the decision told The Associated Press. Wilson and the Jets’ offense have struggled mightily this season, and coach Robert Saleh pulled the 2021 No. New York went 0 for 11 on third down, but went 4 for 5 on fourth down against Buffalo. The Jets scored their first touchdown on offense since Oct. 29 on their only trip inside the Bills 20 on Sunday. As Vikings center Garrett Bradbury helped him up, Cousins tried to stand and felt an eerie sensation of the ground sinking underneath him. Cousins' naivete, or denial, quickly gave way to reality once he hopped off the field and the medical staff tended to him on the bench. He was arrested on Tuesday, and released on bail on Wednesday pending further inquiries. Petgrave skates toward Johnson and collides with another Panthers player. CNN —Hate groups and far-right internet trolls have seized on the tensions surrounding the Israel-Hamas war, while leveraging advances in artificial intelligence to further stoke antisemitism in the United States. “We’ve seen a real concerning ideological convergence between far-right communities online and pro-Hamas sentiment,” said Ben Decker, CEO of Memetica, a threat analysis company that monitors online hate. Karen Dunn, an attorney who sued the people responsible for the violence at the deadly 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, told CNN the hate groups “hate everybody, but they hate the Jews the most.”Antisemitism is a commonality that can unite multiple different and competing hate groups, which can then metastasize into hate directed at others, she said. Minadeo, the hate group’s leader, was sentenced this month to 30 days behind bars in Florida, after distributing the antisemitic fliers. Since the October 7 attack on Israel, hate groups also have attempted to latch onto the pro-Palestinian movement to push their own antisemitism-promoting agenda.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers said his goal is to return from a torn Achilles tendon by mid-December, NBC's Melissa Stark reported during the telecast of the Jets' game at Las Vegas on Sunday night. Rodgers had hinted recently he hopes to return before the end of the season, but this is the most specific he has been. He suffered what was thought to be a season-ending injury in the opener against the Buffalo Bills. However, Rodgers, who was on the sideline, told Stark he “just wasn’t feeling it” about throwing passes during pregame warmups as he has the last several weeks. Rodgers said he has been working on a weight-limiting treadmill, jogging at 50% of his body weight.

Krieger, a defender for the opposing Gotham FC, ran to her friend and offered Rapinoe an embrace as she exited the pitch. The 38-year-old Olympic gold medalist was sidelined this year with a calf injury but her quick exit from her final professional match nonetheless left fans and fellow U.S. women's national team veterans stunned. Over many years, I’ve developed a method for making pie dough that’s as foolproof as possible, and I encourage you to try it. At the same time, pie dough can be an Achilles’ heel for many home cooks, so if you have a go-to recipe, feel free to use it. Since pies made scratch always require a lot of time, feel free to make just one or several. I highly recommend no actual pie-making on Thanksgiving Day, to keep your oven free for turkey and sides. Soon after Aaron Rodgers suffered what’s typically a season-ending Achilles injury on his first drive with the New York Jets, he suggested something that sounded radical even for Aaron Rodgers. He wanted to try to return this season. The idea of returning from his Achilles tear within just a handful of months seemed impossible. It’s an injury that has historically required up to a year for recovery—if recovery is even possible. Even Rodgers acknowledges there’s a long way to go before achieving his stated goal.
