But he said that financial threats from donors were not the right solution to influencing universities’ positions on these issues. Stock futures were little changed on Thursday evening as traders braced for major bank earnings. S&P 500 futures and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures oscillated near the flat line. The S&P 500 slid 0.62%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite lost 0.63%. The S&P 500 is up 0.9%, while the Dow is up nearly 0.7% on the week. This is the third positive week in a row for the Nasdaq, and the second straight positive week for the S&P 500.

☆ Dollar General brings former CEO Todd Vasos back to lead the struggling retailer

CNN —Dollar General has brought back its former chief executive in an attempt to revive its struggling business. On Thursday, the discount chain announced that it had reinstated Todd Vasos as CEO, replacing Jeff Owen. Shares of Dollar General, which have been under pressure this year, surged in after-hours trading Thursday after the announcement. Earlier this year Dollar General workers protested over unsafe working conditions at the store.. Conversely, during Vasos’ seven years as CEO, Dollar General more than doubled its market capitalization.
