DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Bracing itself for a retaliatory strike for last week’s ballistic missile attack, Iran has been urging its Arab neighbors not to allow Israel to use their airspace as part of any potential attack, two diplomats from Gulf nations told NBC News Friday. Israel has vowed to respond to the strikes and while the nature and timing of the attack remain unclear, Iran warned countries that do help Israel in any way could potentially become part of a war, one of the diplomats said. Valued at $4 billion in 2021, Cerebras is reportedly seeking to roughly double that in its IPO. Buying shares of Nvidia or other semiconductor and Big Tech stocks is just one way to play the artificial intelligence theme. There's a cheaper way to play it, Sean Peche of Ranmore Fund Management told CNBC Pro Talks last week. "Most investors over the last couple of years have thought that the only way to play AI is to own Nvidia and a few of the other peers," the portfolio manager said. AI is going to help these banks, but investors are "not paying for" the AI factor given that these stocks are trading at only six times earnings, he pointed out. Shares of Nvidia are trading at around 57 times earnings.

But as technology has advanced, fake images generated by AI have continued to proliferate on the internet, at times making it easier for false information to spread online. Public officials even cautioned Floridians this week to beware of AI-generated images that falsely depict conditions on the ground. The inspiration for the hurricane rescue images meme format apparently stems from a viral post from a public official on X, who shared a fake image of a child crying while holding a puppy with a flooded backdrop amid Hurricane Helene, which some recirculated as if it were real. In one meme image posted by an X user, former President Donald Trump appears to be dropping a basket of puppies over a body of water.
