CNN —Officials in New York launched an investigation Saturday after a person died in a small plane crash in Niagara County. It is unclear how many divers were on board before the crash, Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti said at a news conference Saturday. The sheriff called the plane crash “an unfortunate incident” and added that local and federal law enforcement partners are working to determine what led to the crash. Some of the companies reporting quarterly results next week are more likely to see their stocks get a post-earnings bump. Quarterly earnings so far have been positive. FactSet data showed that as of Thursday, 80% of the 61 companies in the S & P 500 that had already reported topped analyst earnings estimates. Analysts have revised their earnings estimates upwards by 25% and 64%, respectively, in the past three and six months. Analyst Jay Sole said he expects the Hoka brand has maintained "robust revenue momentum," which should give Deckers a good chance of beating earnings estimates and raising its forecast.

Sean Waugh holds a laptop with green, red and yellow weather radar looping as his driver rumbles down an Oklahoma highway in their government-issued truck. A rectangular cage with metal mesh covers the truck in an attempt to protect the team from hail. Hanging off the front of the hail cage are weather instruments that look like the horn of a rhinoceros charging into a storm. The truck, called Probe One, points in one direction, and a companion, Probe Two, points in another. “Probe One, you want us to go?”“Yes, go now,” says Dr. Waugh, a researcher with the National Severe Storms Laboratory.
