Gabriel wrote that the fellow fantasy football player was “headed around Oslo and has a shooting planned with multiple people on his side involved. Law enforcement officers in Norway and the US dedicated five days and hundreds of hours to investigating the threat, prosecutors said. While investigating Gabriel for the international hoax in Norway, prosecutors said they learned that Gabriel emailed another fictitious threat earlier this year – this time to the University of Iowa. In March, Gabriel emailed the university indicating the same fantasy football group member was threatening to “blow up the school,” which Gabriel knew was untrue, prosecutors said. Romero warned in her statement that hoax threats are a crime.

USPS will work “around the clock” and implement “extraordinary measures” to ensure the timely delivery of mail-in voting, DeJoy said. A record 43% of voters cast mail ballots in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The level isn’t expected to be as high this year, but many states across the country have expanded the availability of mail-in voting. The USPS says during the 2020 election, which was conducted amid the Covid-19 pandemic, it delivered nearly 99% of ballots from voters to election officials within seven days. Specifically, the election officials said they’ve experienced “exceptionally long delivery times” for election mail, including ballots, which could lead to those ballots getting rejected because they didn’t arrive before the deadline.

A federal judge has extended a temporary restraining order against the Biden administration's latest student loan forgiveness plan, threatening the White House hope to provide financial relief to tens of millions of Americans ahead of the Nov. 5 presidential elections. In the meantime, Hall said he would review the plaintiffs' request for a preliminary injunction against the Biden's relief plan, and the Biden administration's request to dismiss the case. The continuation of the restraining order is the latest setback for the Biden administration's efforts to cancel people's federal student loans. President Joe Biden began promising to alleviate people's education debts during his 2020 campaign bid, but Republican legal challenges have consistently stymied his attempts. The development stems from a lawsuit against the president's aid package brought by seven GOP-led states earlier this month.

Many companies don't have cyber insurance because of costs, but the market is growing. Cyber insurance can help companies recover financially from cyberattacks and data breaches. But one way leaders can minimize the impact of losses from a cybersecurity incident is by getting cyber insurance. One reason is the cost: The Cyber Readiness Institute estimates that cyber insurance can cost businesses $500 to $5,000 a year. What cyber insurance does and doesn't coverMany policies offer first- and third-party coverage, and most companies need both, Engstrom said.

On the positive side, Wharton professor Jeremy Siegel called the decision the "best news" the Fed has offered in years. He said the Fed "moved too fast" with its 50-point cut. This is unusual, since investors will typically snap up these assets after a rate cut. Related storiesSome on Wall Street noted that the Fed's decision to cut beyond 25 basis points was essentially a signal that the central bank is moving past inflation. To Contopoulos point, this may be premature, as August's consumer price index report still stood above the 2% inflation target.

The technology is similar to Apple's Face ID but mobile platform-agnostic, given that many Worldcoin users have Android devices. So I can take a photo of your face, and, through complicated AI, I could fool Face ID, for example. If it is the first time, the orb takes the iris code and cryptographically processes the iris code. Individually, neither of those new codes looks anything like the iris code, nor can they be brought back to the iris code on their own. The one person that can access that information is the owner of the world ID — the user.
