In fact, those expectations for higher rates are causing Wall Street economists to rethink their projections for growth. Goldman Sachs also has raised its expectations for rate hikes this year, though it still sees a terminal rate in the 4%-4.25% range. "Thus far, higher rates have inflicted little widespread pain on the real economy, so the Fed has room to continue hiking into restrictive territory," the Morgan Stanley economist said. "Bottom line is that the Fed needs more evidence that its actions are taking a bite out of the real economy."

Music entrepreneur Chaka Zulu, the longtime manager of rapper Ludacris, was charged with murder in a June shooting in which he was injured, Atlanta police announced Saturday. He was booked and bonded out the same day after being charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during certain crimes, and simple battery, police said. The senator's stock trades have become a highly politicized issue, with Ossoff and Democratic allies spending millions of dollars on ads highlighting the controversy. Perdue sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of these companies' stock shares during 2020, an Insider analysis of Senate stock trade disclosure records indicates.
