At the corner of Iris Ave and Folsom in North Boulder, my Model 3 Tesla was self-driving when it showed up two human drivers in the lane just in front of us. All three of us were turning left — two flesh-and-blood drivers and my robot — when the two humans violated a basic traffic rule by swinging wide and turning into the right hand lane. The Tesla hugged the inside lane, as the driver manual indicates is the proper rule of the road. On the other hand, my son is less likely than the Tesla’s software to suddenly disengage and just stop steering altogether (requiring me to take over). Seen through the lens of cognition and neuroscience, the contrast says a lot about the next generation of drivers.

Read previewIf you opened Instagram last July 5, the buzz about Threads was hard to miss. Threads plans to become more independent, but Instagram still drives a lot of the trafficRecent data from Emarketer found that Instagram has been a big driver of users to Threads — out of Threads' 29 million US users in 2023, 21% were Instagram users, while in 2024, that share rose to 29% out of 41.7 million users. Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri confirmed in a recent interview with Platformer that a lot of the platform's users were "coming over from Instagram." However, Instagram still reminds Threads users who dropped off to keep using the platform, like Kristin Bousquet, a creator who has 5,412 followers on Threads. "Just having the ability to go to someone's Instagram account from Threads, and vice versa, keeps it top of mind," he said.

Corbyn won 49.2% of the vote, while the Labour candidate came in second with 34.4%. She said, after Streeting abstained from a vote on a Gaza ceasefire, she decided to enter politics and abdicate from Labour. “As a Palestinian, that place is no longer for me… The Labour party does not represent us,” she told CNN. I'm always on the lookout for stocks with ideal technical set-ups, and my favorite one is a chart with a long-term uptrend and short-term pullback. I actually call this setup a "fat pitch" chart. So when a chart is in a primary uptrend, and then has a decent pullback to make a higher low, this fat pitch chart can often provide a fantastic "buy on the dips" opportunity. We can also see that the RSI is currently just above the 40 level, which tells us that the price momentum remains fairly bullish despite the recent price pullback. BEFORE MAKING ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS, YOU SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER SEEKING ADVICE FROM YOUR OWN FINANCIAL OR INVESTMENT ADVISOR.

Stefanie Longenecker, 43, Palmyra, Pa. Has stayed out of the workforce because of high cost of child care. But she has been sidelined from the workforce by a child care system that has grown inaccessible for many families. Longenecker, 43, left her job as a hospital pathologist during the pandemic to care for her young children amid repeated day care and school closings. “I’m incredibly lucky to be able to spend this time with my kids, even recognizing the shortcomings.”The child care crunch has put a growing squeeze on families since the pandemic, when more than 100,000 workers left the industry and more than 16,000 child care centers permanently closed. Since then, child care costs have risen more than 30%, and households with child care expenses have been spending at a slower pace and dipping into savings at a faster rate than the general population, according to a Bank of America analysis of its customers’ spending.

WASHINGTON — After he gave his State of the Union speech in March, President Joe Biden seemed to have quieted persistent fears that, at 81, he was no longer up to the job. But a Democratic lawmaker who shook hands with Biden in the House chamber that night was troubled by his appearance. Biden's poor showing at the debate with Donald Trump last week threatens to end his campaign just four months before the election. A third Democratic lawmaker said that in recent months, Biden looked "exceedingly tired" when the two were together. Yet the interview comes eight days after Biden's appearance onstage with Trump — time enough for perceptions of his poor performance to calcify.
