Actor Mark Wahlberg lobbied Nevada state lawmakers Wednesday to pass a bill that would coax more film production to Las Vegas. The electronics giant has committed to spend $1 billion on film production in Nevada over a decade, but only if the tax incentive package, known as the Nevada Film Studio Infrastructure Act, passes. That studio would sit on the University of Nevada Las Vegas technology park, which would also include educational facilities for job training in the film industry. "For a company to earn $190 million tax credit ... they would have to spend $633 million filming and creating economic development for this whole valley." Other states have seen film production tax credits become a financial drain, according to analysis by the Nevada Policy Research Institute.

CNN —Bruce Willis’ daughter, Tallulah, has revealed her difficulties coming to terms with her father’s frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis and shared details about its impact on her family’s life. “I keep flipping between the present and the past when I talk about Bruce: he is, he was, he is, he was. She recalled the first signs of her father’s illness, which the family initially announced was aphasia, a condition that can hinder communication. He had had two babies with my stepmother, Emma Heming Willis, and I thought he’d lost interest in me. Though this couldn’t have been further from the truth, my adolescent brain tortured itself with some faulty math: I’m not beautiful enough for my mother, I’m not interesting enough for my father.”Tallulah Willis is the youngest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.

(CNN) — Never-before-seen draft lyrics of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” suggest that Freddie Mercury considered giving his mock-opera anthem a somewhat different title: “Mongolian Rhapsody.”The discovery was made following the emergence of a 15-page folio of lyrics, vocal lines and harmonies handwritten by the singer as he composed his 1975 hit. Queen recorded “Bohemian Rhapsody” the next year. Sotheby's auction house said the handwritten lyrics present "untold insights into other possible directions the song could have taken." Warren Buffett has more in common with quantitative traders than it appears, Cliff Asness says. Buffett looks at companies' profits, risks, valuations, and many other elements of their businesses. "Yet he is very correlated with what quants would call the value factor, the low risk factor, and the profitability factor," Asness continued. Meanwhile, Buffett and other value investors look beyond those ratios to determine if a company is a bargain or not, he said. "That is not the holistic measure of value a guy like Warren Buffett, or any Graham-and-Dodd-style value investor, would look at," Asness said.

CNN —Pterosaurs, the world’s oldest flying reptiles, once flew in Australia’s skies as far back as 107 million years ago, according to a study published Wednesday. Palaeontologists came to that conclusion after examining two pieces of prehistoric bone extracted from Dinosaur Cove – a fossil-bearing site in the Australian state of Victoria – more than three decades ago. The samples turned out to be the oldest remains of pterosaurs ever recovered from the country, according to the study published in science journal History Biology on Wednesday. Experts from the Perth-based Curtin University and Museums Victoria, in Melbourne, examined bones from two individuals, including a wing bone belonging to the first juvenile pterosaur ever reported in Australia. Despite my awareness of this, I still didn't know how to say no, so I kept saying yes. It's critical to find "no" phrasing you're comfortable with so you actually feel comfortable saying it when necessary. For example, if your boss asks you to take on a new project, can you really just say "no" and walk away? While you don't need to explain the details of your current workload when you initially say no, be clear on them yourself. Saying no — frequently — is critical to creating boundaries around your time so you can show up strong at work and live a life you're excited about.

They are buying everyone matching company T-shirt and taking various group photos to use on social media. I am a very private person and don’t use social media, but many friends, colleagues and clients do. Group photos in matching T-shirts feels silly and unprofessional (and frankly, embarrassing). Now, I hate having my picture taken, and I’m not a fan of mandatory fun, so I don’t judge your distaste for a group picture. If you don’t want to take the group picture, don’t.

What body neutrality means and how to get there

What is body neutrality? If body positivity is celebrating your body, body neutrality is not thinking about it much at all. “Body neutrality really takes that focus away altogether … and advocates for really focusing on other things.”While that may seem like a bit of a letdown compared with the concept of positivity, body neutrality is beneficial because the aim is not to tie self-worth to what a body looks like or even what it can do. “This concept of body neutrality really hit home,” she said. Body neutrality roadblocks and strategiesCampos likes to think of the ongoing relationship people have with their bodies as an archeological dig.

Overtreatment, No,” by Mehra Golshan (Opinion guest essay, May 18):When I was 44, my routine annual screening mammogram detected a distortion that turned out to be a highly aggressive and dangerous form of breast cancer. Fortunately, because I was screened annually, it was caught at an early stage and was treated with a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Now that I’m well into my 60s, I’m grateful every day for the mammogram that caught that deadly cancer early enough to save my life. Statistically, annual mammogram screening for breast cancer before age 50 may not “save enough lives,” but it surely saved mine. Deborah SchuenemanFarmington Hills, Mich.To the Editor:Like Dr. Mehra Golshan, I am a breast cancer surgeon, and I wholeheartedly agree with his view of the new screening guidelines.

Today, Moushabeck, 36, is part of a burgeoning movement of Palestinian-American authors publishing children’s books in English with Palestinians as the main characters. Letting Palestinian children be childrenDespite recent strides in the arts, Palestinian-Americans, along with other Arab-Americans, are still woefully underrepresented in books. Between 2018 to 2022, the Cooperative Children’s Book Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Education found that less than 1% of children’s and young adult books released by US publishers were about Arabs. The books also feature activities related to Palestinian culture, including a recipe for hummus and a tutorial for tatreez, traditional Palestinian embroidery. Bishara, whose own family was expelled from the Galilee in 1948, says it’s important to teach Palestinian children raised in diaspora about every aspect of Palestinian culture and history, including those that cause great pain.
