Though she made the image four and a half decades ago, “Woman with Blue Bow” seems strikingly contemporary — a timeless symbol on the strictures of femininity. Though Callis and her body of work fits neatly within this cohort, it’s not a label that Callis adopted, then or now. Callis' early color work explored restriction and desire at the height of the feminist art movement. Jo Ann Callis/Courtesy ROSEGALLERYThe red imprint on the model’s neck, alluding to discomfort, was not actually caused by the bow, Callis explained, but was rather an illusion thanks to makeup. It’s just one of the many nuances in her color work that she would not have been able to pull off in black and white.

The request for information on the measures the companies have taken to improve the protection of minors comes a day after a similar message by the European Union to Alphabet's (GOOGL.O) YouTube and TikTok. The Commission last month also sent companies including Meta, X and TikTok urgent orders to detail measures taken to counter the spread of content related to terrorism, violent content and hate speech on their platforms. Through interviews and government records, the news organization documented at least 600 injuries of SpaceX workers since 2014. The more than 600 SpaceX injuries Reuters documented represent only a portion of the total case count, a figure that is not publicly available. SpaceX injury data reporting failures SpaceX facilities failed to submit injury data annually, as required by regulators, for most years since 2016. Workers welded rocket parts up to 12 hours a day, six days a week, often in temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the SpaceX workers said. Nov 10 (Reuters) - Shares of advertising tech firm Trade Desk (TTD.O) plunged 19% on Friday following a quarterly revenue forecast dented by a slowdown in spending from labor strike-hit automakers and media companies. Trade Desk has what it calls "a marketplace" of more than 200 companies, including ESPN, Hulu and Fox, where advertisers can choose to show their ads. The company also caters to brands such as Warner Bros Discovery (WBD.O), which warned this week the sluggishness in advertising trends could continue into the next year. Trade Desk expects fourth-quarter revenue of at least $580 million, which was $30 million lower than estimates, according to LSEG data. "We appreciate the near-term conservatism and think that Trade Desk sits in a unique position to deliver defensibility in a deteriorating macro but also growth in an improving one," RBC Capital Markets analysts said.

Andre Azevedo Alves, political science professor at Lisbon's Catolica University and St Mary's University in London, said the corruption investigation was a "very strong blow" to any PS ambitions. Analysts agree the PSD is likely to come out on top, but doubt its ability to build enough support to form a stable government. "Assuming the likelihood that the PSD will not have (enough) votes to form a government without Chega... we may go from one political crisis to another," Alves said. Waiting for a bus in central Lisbon, Ana Bernardino, 23, vented her concerns about the political outlook. "It is a political crisis and in my opinion it's a bit frustrating that elections are being held again...I'm a bit afraid."

Shares of digital ad company The Trade Desk fell 19% Friday morning, a day after the company reported third-quarter results and issued weak revenue guidance. Analysts keyed in on the likelihood of softer ad spending in the December quarter. The Trade Desk is one of many companies that have cited weaker ad spending as a reason to exercise caution or temper expectations for the fourth quarter. Meta , Pinterest and Snap all expressed concern over disrupted ad spending due to the Israel-Hamas war. Wolfe Research analysts are concerned over the sustainability of The Trade Desk's growth in connected TV, which is a significant contributor to the company's revenue.

Just holding the deal together through a full four-year parliamentary term will be a tough challenge, many predict. "The next legislative term will be very tough for the PSOE, it is likely it won't finish the whole term," said Catalan political analyst Joan Esculies. Spaniards have also been called to show their ire in town square demonstrations across the country on Sunday. For Andoni Ortuzar, the Basque Nationalist Party leader who also struck a deal with the Socialists on Friday, whether the government could hold would be a test of Spain's plurality. "We are different - we consider ourselves a different nation - and the question is whether we can live together comfortably," he said.

The housing market is loosening up as supply climbs and home prices drop, Redfin said. "I'm advising buyers to lock in a mortgage rate as soon as they drop to a number where they can make the math work." AdvertisementAdvertisementThe housing market is loosening up as mortgage rates have tumbled, but it doesn't necessarily guarantee lasting relief for buyers, Redfin said. In the last week, the 30-year fixed mortgage rate notched its biggest weekly drop in over a year, sliding from 7.86% to 7.61%. Though mortgage rates are still near 23-year highs, these adjustments are enough to trim a few hundred dollars of a monthly payment, Redfin said.

The benchmark index had been wavering earlier in the day, flirting with a ninth straight day of gains that would mark the longest winning streak since 2004. By law, an election needs to be held within 60 days of the publishing of the presidential decree dissolving parliament. "I hope that time, sooner rather than later, will allow us to clarify what happened," Rebelo de Sousa said. By calling the March election, Rebelo de Sousa also addressed the need of the PS to pick a new leader to run. Earlier, PS President Carlos Cesar said March would be the best timing, while other parties pointed to January or February. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez of Spain sealed a deal to extend amnesty to Catalan separatists on Thursday in exchange for their political support, likely allowing him to stay in power but causing turmoil throughout Spain, doubts in Europe and questions about the country’s stability. Mr. Sánchez, 51, who is currently acting as a caretaker prime minister after inconclusive snap elections he called in July, backed the amnesties related to an illegal referendum that shook Spain in 2017 to receive the critical support of the Junts party, which supports independence from Spain for the northern region of Catalonia. With their support, Mr. Sánchez will likely avoid new elections, win parliamentary backing for another stint as prime minister and solidify his place in the European Union as its standard-bearer for progressive politics.
