North Korea got a good deal by sending its officials to help Russia's Ukraine war, experts said. In a discussion on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: "North Korea has, in fact, entered the war," per state-run outlet United24 Media. Even limited numbers of North Korean officials aiding Russia offers a vital boost for Kim Jong Un and his regime, experts told Business Insider. "It's a win-win situation," Joseph S. Bermudez Jr., a North Korea defense expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said. Among the North Korean elite, there's also a hunger for consumer goods, which Russia's support can help to provide, Bennett said.

Don't overlook the artificial intelligence potential of Cisco Systems , Citi said. "While AI is currently a small piece of the biz (~2% of revs), we see the potential for a stronger contribution," he wrote. At least three major hyperscalers have already begun using the company's tools in backend networks, and Malik views Cisco's recent $9 billion 2027 hyperscaler AI opportunity forecast as potentially understated. "We believe shares warrant a sizable discount to networking peer valuation to reflect lingering share loss concerns, somewhat tempered by growing AI opportunities," he wrote. "Even at a 30+% discounted target multiple to peer average, we see meaningful upside to shares."

CNBC's Jim Cramer critiqued Tuesday's massive semiconductor sell-off, saying some on Wall Street don't recognize the lasting importance of advanced graphics chips for artificial intelligence, especially ones from Nvidia . Semiconductor companies saw their stocks plummet on Tuesday after ASML posted a disappointing quarter a day earlier than expected. Cramer pointed out that the one bright spot in ASML's poor report was its sales of chips related to AI. And according to Cramer, AI is a large part of the reason companies continue to invest heavily in nuclear power. "In fact, it's only gonna increase, especially when tech companies and utilities are furiously trying to put up nuclear power plants to meet the energy demands of Nvidia's chips."

Harris said that she would like to see the school "put in place an AI policy that makes sense." Matthew Sag, a professor of law in AI, machine learning, and data science at Emory University Law School, told BI that the school handbook's outlined policy is "hopelessly vague and unfair."

Beijing Reuters —Intel products sold in China should be subject to a security review, the Cybersecurity Association of China (CSAC) said on Wednesday, alleging the US chipmaker has “constantly harmed” the country’s national security and interests. “It is recommended that a network security review is initiated on the products Intel sells in China, so as to effectively safeguard China’s national security and the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese consumers,” CSAC said. Last year, CAC barred domestic operators of key infrastructure from buying products made by US memory chipmaker Micron Technology Inc (MU) after deeming the company’s products as having failed its network security review. A similar security review on Intel products could negatively impact the company’s revenues, over a quarter of which came from China last year. “This poses a great security threat to the critical information infrastructures of countries all over the world, including China … the use of Intel products poses a serious risk to national security,” CSAC said.

The company’s own defense business posted a $913 million loss in the three months to the end of June. BEIJING — Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba 's international arm on Wednesday launched an updated version of its artificial intelligence-powered translation tool that, it says, is better than products offered by Google, DeepL and ChatGPT. Alibaba's fast-growing international unit released the AI translation product as an update to one unveiled about a year ago, which it says already has 500,000 merchant users. Sellers based in one country can use the translation tool to create product pages in the language of the target market. Large language models power artificial intelligence applications such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, which can also translate text. Alibaba's translation tool is based on its own model called Qwen.

The creator and marketing company Triller is finally trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker ILLR. The company went public via a reverse merger with a Hong Kong-based company called AGBA. A reverse merger occurs when a private company goes public by acquiring a publicly listed company. That didn't come to fruition, and in December 2021, the company announced plans to complete a reverse merger with a company called Seachange International. Creators, brands, and consumers are the main cohorts that AGBA touts as central to Triller's business in its recent filings.

Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller said on Wednesday that his decision to sell out of Nvidia this year was a "big mistake." Druckenmiller's comments do not reflect Nvidia's 10-for-1 stock split, which went into effect in June. "It tripled in a year, and I thought the valuation was rich," Druckenmiller told Bloomberg. Druckenmiller told CNBC in May that Nvidia was "a little overhyped now, but underhyped long term." He added that he was introduced to Nvidia in 2022, when "I didn't even know how to spell it."

We did hold onto our rate-sensitive names like Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley , which were among the best performers since the last Monthly Meeting. Morgan Stanley: 16.2% Following the Fed's decision, shares advanced as investors became more optimistic about a soft landing for the U.S. economy. Morgan Stanley benefits from lower rates — and, in turn, a better economy — because it can usher in more Wall Street dealmaking such as initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. That's because the Club has been debating exiting Morgan Stanley altogether for a potentially better investment banking rebound play like Goldman Sachs. Morgan Stanley reiterated its buy-equivalent rating on Oct. 10, arguing that Eaton has a positive setup into earnings season.

Citi has named Pegasystems one of its new top picks, citing an "underappreciated" artificial intelligence story and attractive valuation. The Wall Street bank has set a target price of $92 for Pegasystems, representing a potential 25% upside from its current trading price of around $73.50. Pegasystems, an enterprise software firm, has seen its stock price surge by over 50% year-to-date, outperforming the broader iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF , which is up nearly 14% this year. Citi analysts view this development as a catalyst for the stock to rise. On a fundamental level, Citi's analysts also believe that Pegasystems' unique approach to artificial intelligence, particularly its "blueprint" strategy, sets it apart from competitors, calling it an "underappreciated gen AI story."
