CNN —The Nigeria men’s soccer team is back home after being stuck at a remote Libyan airport for over 15 hours, according to Nigeria’s football governing body and team captain William Troost-Ekong. In an Instagram post, the NFF said that the squad was stranded overnight at Al Abraq airport outside of Al Bayda, Libya. “We understand the Al Abraq International Airport is only used for hajj operations. CNN —The Supreme Court on Tuesday signaled a willingness to uphold a Biden administration regulation on “ghost guns,” mail-order kits that allow people to build untraceable weapons at home and that are turning up at crime scenes with greater frequency. The difference here, she said, is that the ghost guns are marketed to be built into guns and serve no other conceivable purpose. President Joe Biden’s administration told the court in briefing that police departments have faced an “explosion of crimes involving ghost guns” in recent years. CNN —The wreck of a US Navy destroyer known as the “Ghost Ship of the Pacific” has been found off the coast of California by undersea investigators. USS Stewart pictured arriving in San Francisco Bay in March 1946. The ship was damaged in combat against Japanese forces in 1942 and was captured by the enemy, becoming the Imperial Japanese Navy’s Patrol Boat No. “Soon, far-ranging Allied pilots began reporting the strange sight of an old American destroyer operating deep behind enemy lines,” reads the statement. “Whether lost in battle or sunk as a target, a warship remains sovereign property in perpetuity,” he said in the statement.

WASHINGTON — During Donald Trump’s White House tenure, Republicans assembled the most conservative Supreme Court in a century. Now, they’re excited about the prospect of building on those efforts by confirming even more conservative justices, as well as lower-court judges, if he wins another four years. Two long-serving conservative justices will be on retirement watch in the coming years: Clarence Thomas, 76, and Samuel Alito, 74. It takes 51 votes to confirm a Supreme Court justice, so in that scenario Republicans would have the power to replace them without any input from Democrats. On the campaign trail, Harris hasn’t said much about the prospect of Supreme Court vacancies under the next president.
