CNN —Travelers at LaGuardia Airport in New York got quite the wake-up call on Monday morning when a raccoon fell from the ceiling at a gate before they boarded the plane. Video shared on social media shows the chaotic critter scene at a Spirit Airlines gate where a raccoon can be seen clinging onto a cable that is hanging from the ceiling. The incident took place around 8 a.m., according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. “The raccoon was safely located and released outside, with no further sightings report,” the Port Authority said. “To ensure safety, airport staff is working closely with a professional wildlife control company to monitor the area, identify potential entry points, and implement necessary precautions,” the Port Authority said.

A tropical disturbance in the Caribbean is likely to become a hurricane as it passes over Cuba and into the Gulf of Mexico by midweek, federal forecasters said Sunday. The Air's Force 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, using Super Hercules fixed-wing aircraft, got a close look Sunday, the hurricane center said in an afternoon forecast discussion. Still, the upward movement of warm air and precipitation wasn't intense enough to call the disturbance a tropical depression, the hurricane center said. At 39 mph it becomes a tropical storm, which could happen early Tuesday, according to hurricane center forecasts. Storm threatsIn the meantime, the hurricane center said, hurricane conditions are possible within 48 hours on the Cayman Islands.

Orlando, Florida, police released the identities of the two men killed in a Halloween shooting in downtown Orlando last week. Tyrek Hill, 25, and Timothy Schmidt Jr., 19, were killed Friday when a gunman opened fire shortly after 1 a.m. during a Halloween celebration, police said. People who lost a significant amount of weight with semaglutide saw major improvements in osteoarthritis knee pain, research published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine finds. “Any sort of dramatic weight loss will relieve pain,” Bliddal said. In another study led by Bliddal, people with knee osteoarthritis were given an older weight loss drug, liraglutide. The average BMI in that study was about 32, lower than the average in the new study. Most of the people in the study had a BMI over 35, and nearly half had a BMI of over 40.
