Venice, Italy CNN —Until recently, the Venice Architecture Biennale — arguably the world’s largest architecture exhibition — has drawn crowds for its (mainly Western) star appeal. In a May 20 Facebook post titled “Venice Biennale Blues,” Zaha Hadid Architects’ principal, Patrik Schumacher, wrote that “the ‘Architecture’ Biennale is mislabeled and should stop laying claim to the title of architecture. The German pavilion, which is displaying construction waste produced by 2022’s Venice Art Biennale is a case in point. The German Pavilion at the 18th Architecture Biennale is displaying and repurposing constuction waste from the city's Art Biennale last year. Russia's S-400 is a highly regarded weapon designed to intercept a variety of aircraft and missiles. But in Ukraine, Moscow has pressed its S-400s into service to intercept US-made HIMARS rockets or, more bizarrely, to bombard Ukrainian cities. Ukraine has used the S-300 — predecessor to the S-400 — and the American-made Patriot to intercept Kalibr cruise missiles and even Kinzhal hypersonic weapons. A more suitable system to destroy HIMARS rockets would be Israel's Iron Dome, which has frequently intercepted small rockets and even mortar shells. An S-400 missile is launched at a military base in southern Russia during an exercise in September 2020.
These drugs tame "zombie cells" which can contribute to age-related diseases. New drugs could clear harmful zombie cells from the body entirely – but research is still ongoing. Metformin is among a class of drugs called "senomorphics," pills that are showing promise taming aging cells known as senescent cells. These are cells in the body that have stopped multiplying, yet don't die—earning them the nickname "zombie cells." For the rest of us, Kirkland says "things like exercise and dieting can reduce senescent cell burden as well."
Despite this widespread apprehension, Holly Herndon — an experimental musician and artist — doesn't think AI is nefarious or will ruin art. Herndon's usage of AI shows a way forward for not just artists but also the rest of us. In her blog post announcing Holly+, Herndon said she envisioned a future where digitally created voices "soon become standard practice for artists and other creatives." While the project has yielded an ever-growing array of fascinating art, Holly+ also raises questions about the future of that art. (Anyone can use the Holly+ voice tool itself without submitting the output to the DAO, however.)
Still, it is also true that a lot of disruption occurred in between the events that prompted the "apocalypse" chatter and the firmer ground where retail real estate stands today. Recalling how these events played out is helpful in understanding the situation facing U.S. office properties. For office buildings, the pandemic knocked things out of whack. The same idea is being discussed for office buildings, but one-size will not fit all. There may be no surprise that there has been a huge drop-off in the number of loans with office properties as collateral since March.
Matt Huculak, a university librarian, used ChatGPT to help write a letter of recommendation for a student. The "heartfelt" letter may have helped the student win a prestigious scholarship to Cambridge. A screenshot of the ChatGPT-generated reference letter Huculak used as a template of what not to write. After all, writing a reference letter, Huculak said, "is a tremendously difficult task" that he finds "anxiety producing." "I think committees will quickly learn to spot ChatGPT letters," Huculak said.
AI tools like ChatGPT and DALL-E2 can provide marketers with creative ideas, save them time, and even generate imagery and video for content. Insider IntelligenceAlthough risks are present, generative AI is on par to change content marketing forever. Despite the excitement around generative AI, only 13% of marketers in the Aira survey think AI content is already indistinguishable from human content. As a result, it is unlikely that generative AI will be able to fully replace content marketers especially when it comes to creating content that is original, brand-specific, authoritative, and ready to publish. Want to learn more about ChatGPT and Generative AI in Content Marketing?
Many social media marketers are already experimenting with generative AI tools. Of the responsibilities these managers face, generative AI could help most with brand marketing, creative development, and customer service. Generative AI is not plug-and-play and requires training as well as a great deal of oversight. Additionally, due to the negative perception from consumers, it is unlikely that they will be receptive and trusting of generative AI use in social media. Both are mostly high-rise communities, growing fast and densely populated, but they represent two very different realities from a climate and sustainability perspective. One way is to focus on modernizing the buildings we already have, to create neighborhoods that adapt to the individual needs of residents. In a climate-aware, post-COVID-19 world, with an aging and tech-savvy population, the focus is now on the needs of connected micro-communities within livable cities." Data, including information from KONE elevators, can provide insights into people's movement in cities, and their changing behavior and needs. Kone"Modernizing an elevator, in an existing building, means we can reduce energy consumption by up to 70%, and a KONE elevator today is up to 90% more energy-efficient than its 1990s counterpart.
A society committed to housing and feeding its people will ensure plenty of land is dedicated to homes and farms. According to the builder WGI, the average parking stall in the US costs $27,900 to build, more than the cost of many new compact cars. The money and resources dedicated to parking could be used for other purposes, but breaking our country's reliance on parking has been difficult. Parking accounted for about 27% of per-unit costs, regardless of whether the resident owned a car or not. Better transportation, better land use, better citiesEfforts are underway to finally rid America of its unhealthy devotion to parking.

The American EV market is small in comparison to operations in China and Europe. In 2021, the U.S. accounted for less than 10% of new global EV registrations, while China accounted for 50% and Europe 35%. China also accounts for 70% of the world's global EV battery production capacity, meaning that the U.S. is heavily dependent on imports of battery minerals. However, a number of companies are currently working on ways to recycle lithium-ion batteries including Spiers New Technologies, or SNT which focuses on remanufacturing, refurbishing, repurposing and recycling EV batteries. With the demand for critical minerals such as graphite, lithium and cobalt expected to increase by 2050, extending the life of an EV battery can be an important step to reduce the need for mining.

China also accounts for over 70% of global EV battery production capacity, meaning the U.S. is heavily dependent on imports of batteries and battery minerals. It estimates that the lifetime of an EV battery is around 12 to 15 years in moderate climates. The company now has over 400 employees and offers what it calls a "one-stop solution" for used and faulty EV batteries. The company wouldn't disclose the number of battery packs it's capable of storing but said it handles on average 15 thousand battery packs and modules per month. "When I think about the future of EV battery recycling specifically, I see it as an increasingly competitive space," Malloy said.
That includes T-80 tanks captured the 1st Guards Tank Army, an elite Russian armored unit. But Russian tanks are designed for Russian forces, and Ukraine might get limited use out of them. No wonder Western observers have been thrilled by reports of Ukraine capturing hundreds of Russian tanks and turning them against the invaders. "You can see an entire unit composed of nothing but captured Russian tanks." Interestingly, Kofman believes Ukraine doesn't need tanks as much as it needs armored vehicles to carry infantry into battle.
Most carmakers said their battery packs are repairable, though few seem willing to share access to battery data. Lauterwasser said access to EV battery data is part of that fight. EV battery problems also expose a hole in the green "circular economy" touted by carmakers. Hill estimated at least 95% of the cells in the hundreds of EV battery packs - and thousands of hybrid battery packs - Synetiq has stored at Doncaster are undamaged and should be reused. WASHINGTON, March 15 (Reuters) - The Biden administration on Wednesday launched an effort to identify significant wireless spectrum that can be repurposed for advanced technology needs and soaring U.S. wireless demand. The Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is developing a National Spectrum Strategy with a goal to identify at least 1,500 megahertz of spectrum to study for potential new uses. The strategy will address current and future spectrum needs, including fixed and mobile wireless broadband, next-generation satellite communications and other space-based systems; advanced transportation; and industrial and commercial applications. Congress last week let the FCC's authority to auction wireless spectrum lapse for the first time in three decades, prompting some lawmakers to quickly restore the authority that has raised more than $200 billion in proceeds for the U.S. government. "We've got 6G networks coming, new mega-constellations of satellites, connected automobiles, the internet of things - all of that demands new uses of spectrum," Davidson said.

The Biden administration also is weighing reviving immigration arrests of migrant families within the United States who have been ordered deported, two of the officials said. The New York Times first reported the possible restart of family detention. The Biden administration has discussed using two Texas detention centers that previously housed families, three of the U.S. officials said. The Biden administration said in a February 2022 memo that it was repurposing family detention centers to hold only adults, a major shift away from Trump's push to expand such detention. Neha Desai, who represents migrant children in a decades-long lawsuit that governs conditions for their detention, criticized the possible detention restart.

Some TikTok influencers are turning their time and energy to other platforms to earn more money, grow their audiences, and create permanent homes for the content. At the height of the pandemic, thousands of users on the app saw their videos go viral. Meanwhile, the threat of a potential TikTok ban in the US has led some creators to question the app's longevity.
The store has 287 workers who are eligible to transfer to another store, per a Walmart spokeswoman. It's "very sad," he told Insider, because there aren't many retailers with stores in that part of Albuquerque. The San Mateo Boulevard store is set to close on March 10 after opening in July 1985, according to Walmart spokeswoman Lauren Willis. Albuquerque city officials are now looking into buying and repurposing the closing Walmart store. The Walmart is one of at least eight stores closing soon across five states and the District of Columbia.
YouTube is testing a feature that lets creators add multiple audio tracks to a single video. The feature lets creators add audio tracks in several different languages. YouTube has been quietly testing the ability for creators to add multiple audio tracks in different languages to their videos, the company confirmed to Insider. The feature is both giving a second chance to old YouTube videos through dubbing, and allowing new videos to reach global audiences. So far, those with access to YouTube's new audio track feature can upload multiple tracks at once, or go back and add more tracks to an old video, Mansorian said.
