While YouTube is eating up more ad dollars, the platform is still behind Meta in terms of total video ad spend in the US, based on projected data from eMarketer.

And like YouTube, the Chinese-owned app is also trying to take ad dollars away from TV networks and video streamers.
It's still not clear how many ad dollars are moving to YouTube Shorts, but Google Chief Business Officer Phillip Schindler talked up the service on the company's latest investor call.
