The foundation of Dow's work was based on the analysis of price trends, comparing swing highs and swing lows to define and track the trends over time. An initial look at the chart of Microsoft (MSFT) may suggest a consistent uptrend of higher highs and higher lows. And while this short-term uptrend is a valid observation, this also means Microsoft may be forming the dreaded "bear flag" pattern, which often precedes a major downdraft. A bear flag pattern occurs when you have an initial downtrend, in this case, the drop from $470 to $385 from early July to early August of this year. If MSFT would drop below $410 in the coming weeks, that would complete the bear flag pattern, and would also push the price back below the 200-day moving average.

AP —A Philadelphia teenager who authorities say wanted to travel overseas and make bombs for terrorist organizations will be tried as an adult. Prosecutors say Abdul-Rahman conducted at least 12 tests on homemade bombs near his family’s home before he was arrested and was close to being able to detonate devices with a blast radius of several hundred yards. Law enforcement began investigating Abdul-Rahman after they received electronic communications between him and terrorist groups in Syria, prosecutors said. The communications indicated that Abdul-Rahman wanted to become a bombmaker for these groups, identified as Katibat al Tawhid wal Jihad (KTJ) and Hay’at Tahrir al Sham (HTS). As the investigation into Abdul-Rahman continued, authorities learned he was buying military and tactical gear as well as materials that could be used in homemade bombs, prosecutors said.

The best way to approach health care, in addition to traditional medicine, in Hotz's opinion, is social prescribing. Or you can create your own art to channel some of the heavy emotions you're feeling into something beautiful. Search for belonging when you're feeling lonelyOne of the most fundamental human needs is to have a sense of belonging, Hotz says. The new findings add to strong, but circumstantial evidence that the SARS-CoV2 virus jumped from infected animals to humans and that the market was a central site of early spread. Of the animals present at the market, rabbits, dogs and raccoon dogs are known to be susceptible to Covid-19 infections. Their analysis shows that SARS-CoV2 virus present at the market emerged at the same time as the virus from the larger pandemic, suggesting they are one and the same. The pandemic virus would have an earlier birthdate. “A lab origin is a possibility.

CNN —The dappled starlight and swirling clouds of Vincent van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” are thought to reflect the artist’s tumultuous state of mind when he painted the work in 1889. Now, a new analysis by physicists based in China and France suggests the artist had a deep, intuitive understanding of the mathematical structure of turbulent flow. Batchelor’s scaling mathematically represents how small particles, such as drifting algae in the ocean or pieces of dust in the wind, are passively mixed around by turbulent flow. “I think this physical relationship must be embedded in his mind so that’s why when he made this famous ‘Starry Night’ painting, it mimics the real flow,” Huang said. “What I take away from studies like this is that (van Gogh) captured some of this universality in the beautiful (‘Starry Night’),” Beattie added.
