I am Hindu, and my wife is Christian, which has presented some challenges. We had a wedding filled with the vibrancy of Indian culture and the traditions of American culture. While American culture often feels less rooted to her, Katy appreciates Indian food and is eager to learn Punjabi, encouraging me to speak it more. For instance, in Indian culture, it's common to stay with one's parents until marriage, while in American culture, independence is often encouraged from a young age. We have learned the importance of open communicationThrough regular, open discussions about our differences, we've discovered that our core values align closely.

But punishing it as rape would “severely impact the conjugal relationship” and “have a far-reaching effect on the institution of marriage.”Classifying marital rape as a crime, “can be arguably considered to be excessively harsh and therefore, disproportionate,” the government said. The government’s written affidavit is its clearest position yet on the issue of marital rape in India. “It speaks to India’s acceptance of sexual violence in our culture,” said Ntasha Bhardwaj, a criminal justice and gender scholar. Arguing against child marital rape in that case was senior advocate Jayna Kothari. “It’s not like floodgates are going to be opened with hundreds of marital rape cases [being reported].

China's CSI 300 index has gained about 25% since the stimulus measures were announced. That would depend on whether the measures announced will likely target China's stock market or the real economy. Even if China's economy improves and its stock market soars, experts suggest it's unlikely to hurt the Indian equity market's growth outlook over the long term. For now, a strong and rapidly growing economy, as well as a "resilient" domestic investor base, continue to be significant drivers of Indian stock markets, according to Wall Street's observers. "The Indian market has numerous positive domestic drivers which underpin our overweight recommendation," Morgan Stanley's Jonathan Garner said in a note to clients this week.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) kept its key interest rate unchanged on Wednesday, as widely expected, but tweaked its policy stance to "neutral," opening the door for rate cuts amid early signs of a growth slowdown in the economy. The Monetary Policy Committee, which consists of three RBI and three external members, kept the repo rate unchanged at 6.50% for a tenth straight policy meeting. The committee, however, changed its policy stance to "neutral" from "withdrawal of accommodation." The MPC last changed rates in February 2023, when the policy rate was raised to 6.50%. India's overall growth slowed to 6.7% in the June quarter.
