But after visiting 17 countries, there's one little luxury I can't go without when flying: checking a bag. I find that my carry-on bag is practically tied to me while I'm in the airport, which can become annoying. Avoiding this anxiety-inducing exercise and not rushing to board is a little luxury worth the price of checking a bag. Opting for a large checked bag means I can pack everything I want to bring on my tripI can pack tons of different outfits in my checked bag. But if you ask me, checking a bag is a relatively easy way to have a better travel experience.

New York CNN —Elon Musk’s X has accused a group of major advertisers of antitrust violations in a new lawsuit claiming the group conspired to “boycott” advertising on the platform. The lawsuit claims an influential ad industry group organized “to collectively withhold billions of dollars in advertising from Twitter” because the group was concerned that the platform had deviated from brand safety standards after Musk’s acquisition in late 2022. The lawsuit is the latest effort by X to revive its core ad business, which has tanked since Musk’s takeover. It’s not the first time X has filed a lawsuit related to its declining ad business. A general view of the Baker Library/Bloomberg Center on February 17, 2024, at Harvard Business School in Allston, MA. Harvard University failed to persuade a U.S. judge to dismiss a lawsuit in which Jewish students accused the Ivy League school of letting its campus become a bastion of antisemitism. Without ruling on the merits, U.S. District Judge Richard Stearns said the plaintiffs plausibly alleged that Harvard's response to on-campus incidents was inadequate, and that "the facts as pled show that Harvard failed its Jewish students." Students sued in January, accusing Harvard of selectively enforcing its anti-discrimination policies to avoid protecting Jewish students from harassment, ignoring their pleas for protection, and hiring professors who supported anti-Jewish violence and spread antisemitic propaganda. Stearns found sufficient allegations that Harvard acted with deliberate indifference toward its Jewish population.

Once you notice vanilla, you’ll smell it everywhere. From custard to candles, we live in a world suffused with vanilla. Extracted from the bean pod of a delicate orchid, vanilla must be grown under exceptionally precise conditions along a very narrow band of the earth, between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. In 2017, a Category 4-equivalent cyclone decimated an estimated 30 percent of the vanilla vines in Madagascar, which produces 80 percent of the vanilla used around the globe. As a result, the price of vanilla bean pods surged to nearly $300 a pound.
