NEW YORK (AP) — A documentary chronicling Beyoncé's just-concluded 39-city Renaissance World Tour will premiere in North American theaters Dec. 1, AMC Theaters announced Monday. Like “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which debuts Oct. 13, “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé” is being released directly by AMC, the movie theater chain, without studio involvement. Beyoncé's previous films include the acclaimed 2019 Netflix film “Homecoming," which captured her Coachella performance in 2018. In the deals with AMC, Beyoncé and Swift are both reported to be receiving at least 50% of ticket sales. The film charts Beyoncé's tour on behalf of her 2022 Grammy-winning album “Renaissance.” It mixes concert footage and elements of a visual album while trailing the tour from its launch in Stockholm, Sweden, in May to the finale Sunday night in Kansas City, Missouri.

New York CNN —The Queen, better known as Beyoncé, had a dress code in mind for Renaissance tour concert goers attending her “House of Chrome,” as she described her concerts. Unprecedented salesAt a pivotal moment during each concert, Beyoncé flicks her wrist and pans out her black handheld fan. A group of fans pose for a portrait before entering Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 in Inglewood, CA. “I did not see them becoming my best seller, much less my by-far-best-seller, because of something as random as a concert tour,” Fritts said. That demand was quickly replaced with silver bedazzled shades earlier this month after Beyoncé’s silver announcement.

When Virgo season dawned, Beyoncé — perhaps the world’s most famous Virgo, who named a track on her seventh album, “Renaissance,” after the star sign — had a birthday request. The performer, now in the last month of her Renaissance World Tour, posted a message on her website and Instagram on Aug. 23 encouraging fans to wear silver to her concerts through Virgo season, which ends on Sept. 22. “We’ll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night,” the message read. On TikTok, concertgoers posted videos of their original non-silver looks set to audio of high-pitched screaming.

More than 70,000 Burning Man attendees were stranded at the Nevada campsite following torrential floods. GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said they're probably being 'brainwashed' about climate change. The annual weeklong Burning Man festival, which is held in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, faced a series of challenges this year. Greene isn't the only member of Congress who's been outspoken recently against Burning Man. "God's judgement is real," he wrote online before then openly wondering if any festivalgoers had been influenced into converting to Christianity due to this year's tumultuous Burning Man.

REUTERS/Mike Blake/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsNEW YORK, Aug 31 (Reuters) - "Barbenheimer" - the twin-bill summer box office phenom - sure helped to drive U.S. consumers back to cinemas last month, but movie-going is still struggling to catch up to other recreational spending categories post-pandemic. While that helped long-suffering box office receipts, it made less of a splash for overall consumer spending when compared to larger categories like clothing and household furnishings, economists at Oxford Economics said. It made a big difference in the live-event spending area though, at least for the moment. This summer’s box office has been out of the ordinary with ticket sales for the season up $500 million from last summer’s sales, according to data firm Box Office Mojo. While other categories of live-event spending have fully recovered from the hit delivered by pandemic shutdowns, film attendance outlays remain at roughly 65% of their pre-COVID levels.

Last week The Wall Street Journal ran a story about how VIP passes are radically remaking the music festival business. Fed up with getting banged around and having beer spilled all over them by the Great Unwashed, concertgoers are willing to pay $400 for one-day festival passes so that they can be close to the stage, have access to bathrooms with no lines, enter and exit the venue effortlessly and just generally avoid rubbing shoulders with the down-market hoi polloi.

CNN —Tina Knowles has appeared to refute the theory that her daughter Beyoncé dropped mentioning Lizzo on tour because of a lawsuit. The lyrics to the song include references to “Betty Davis, Solange Knowles, Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl,’ Lauryn Hill, Roberta Flack” and other prominent women, which Beyoncé recorded with Madonna. That led some to believe the superstar was distancing herself from Lizzo. Knowles jumped in the comments on an Instagram post about the alleged snub. “She also didn’t say her own sister’s name yal [sic] should really stop,” Knowles wrote.

Why Are Dave Matthews Band Fans So Loyal?

On an afternoon in June while wildfire smoke enveloped Manhattan, people lined up outside Irving Plaza — some before dawn, some sporting face masks, some fresh off red-eye flights — to see Dave Matthews. That night, the 56-year-old balladeer was playing a rare solo gig celebrating his namesake band’s new album, “Walk Around the Moon.”Josh Roberts, 42, a special-education teacher in Las Vegas, who has seen the Dave Matthews Band, or DMB, 523 times, stood in that line. Mr. Roberts estimates that he has spent $100,000 on tickets and travel since discovering the band as a struggling high school junior in 1995. “This band has songs about love, depression, sex, things that you connect to,” he said. Mr. Matthews is the first to admit he doesn’t always get it right.

On the night of June 10 at the majestic Gorge Amphitheater in George, Wash., on the lip of the Columbia River, the 79-year-old singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell played her first headlining show in 23 years. Her appearance had the air of a comet’s return: rare, breathlessly awaited and well worth camping out all night. That many concertgoers had traveled long distances made the experience feel all the more like a Mitchell song — perhaps one of the poetic highway travelogues recorded on her 1976 album “Hejira,” or even one of the romantic, intercontinental voyages she sang about on her 1971 landmark “Blue.” It was a crowd dotted with tie-dye and graying braids, yes, but also one full of lifelong friends reunited, mothers and children bonding over intergenerational musical tastes and enough homemade Mitchell T-shirts to rival Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. As Mitchell said to the adoring crowd as it held glowing cellphone lights aloft, paraphrasing one of her most memorable songs, “You’re stardust, and golden.”

Live Nation Entertainment announced new "transparent" pricing where it will display fees at the beginning of the transaction. While this has been on Biden's agenda for months, he hasn't addressed the grip Live Nation Entertainment has on the entertainment industry. Republican state Sen. Scott Wilk introduced a bill in early 2023 to ban exclusivity contracts in the ticketing industry. Ultimately, she said, it's up to the Department of Justice to investigate and potentially take action on Live Nation Entertainment.
