Lawyers for Trump on Friday asked Chutkan to lift the restrictions while he asks a U.S. appeals court to strike down an order by the judge that they called "breathtakingly overbroad." Chutkan on Monday barred Trump from making public statements that "target" Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is prosecuting the case, and members of his staff. And that could shuffle the U.S. presidential-candidate deck. The foreign-policy debate on the Republican side—China, Ukraine, the open border—had become rote. Hamas’s killing of civilians and seizing of hostages, including presumably Americans, has forced the world’s troubles to the top of the presidential agenda.

A spokesperson for Walgreens and an attorney for Rite Aid investors did not immediately reply to requests for comment. The Rite Aid investors sued Walgreens and its executives over statements they made about the proposed merger between the two major U.S. pharmacy chains, which was first announced in 2015. Rainmakers find political hedge in Chris Christie

[1/2] Republican presidential candidate and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie speaks at the New Hampshire Republican Party’s First in the Nation Leadership Summit in Nashua, New Hampshire, U.S., October 13, 2023. Several hedge fund rainmakers poured cash into Chris Christie’s campaign over the summer, according to filings released on Monday. But with legal woes hanging over Trump’s campaign, contributions to the most anti-Trump conservative could become a valuable call option for the group that knows something about hedging. It’s notable that Christie has been vocal about attacking Trump, whom he advised during the prior president’s first term. Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie raised $3.8 million over the quarter, aided by donations from wealthy investors including Stanley Druckenmiller, David Tepper and Paul Tudor Jones.

WASHINGTON, Oct 5 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's administration said on Thursday it will add sections to a border wall to stave off record migrant crossings from Mexico, carrying forward a signature policy of former President Donald Trump. Trump made building border barriers a central tenet of his first campaign for president with the rally chant, "Build That Wall." Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in a statement that there was "no new Administration policy with respect to border walls. REUTERS/Brian Snyder/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsWASHINGTON, Oct 5 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's administration said on Thursday it will build additional sections of border wall to stave off record migrant crossings from Mexico, a policy reversal that embraces a signature measure of former President Donald Trump. Trump is the frontrunner for the Republican Party nomination to challenge Biden, a Democrat, in the 2024 presidential race. Trump made building border barriers a central tenet of his first campaign for president with the rally chant, "Build That Wall." Money that was allocated during the Trump administration is being spent now on a border wall because the administration has no other choice, a U.S. official said.
