NEW YORK, Nov 11 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk is making it too easy to hit the pause on ad spending. loadingSocial media companies are no stranger to ad boycotts. That’s because Facebook and Instagram rely more on small business advertising, which is a diverse scattered group. Twitter reaps almost all its revenue from big brands, and those big advertisers are already looking for an excuse to put the brakes on spending. "In the mid-1970s, high dividend yield stocks struggled to compete with rising cash yields and lagged the S & P 500," Kostin said. Goldman recommends its recently refreshed basket of dividend growth stocks. Verizon Communications carries the highest dividend yield on the list, at 7%, with dividend growth of 2%. NXP Semiconductors and Microchip Technology have some of the fastest dividend growth for the sector, at 22% each.

T-Mobile US Inc. said its cost and customer trends had improved heading into the end of 2022 after the company logged its strongest jump in core phone subscriptions since its merger with Sprint Corp. The cellphone carrier reported a net gain of 854,000 postpaid phone connections during the recent quarter, a postmerger record that outpaced both AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. The tally topped the average estimate of 725,000 from analysts polled by FactSet.

The telecommunications giant said Friday that its consumer business lost 189,000 wireless retail postpaid connections, attributing the drop to higher customer churn that followed monthly rate increases it instituted over the summer.

Last quarter, it raised its forecast for additional subscribers for this year to as high as 6.3 million from a previous high of 5.8 million.
