CNN —Donald Trump is promising a second presidency that would be an aberration in American history. And Trump’s ambitions should be taken seriously because one year from the election, President Joe Biden’s reelection hopes are far from secure. He dehumanizes his political enemies, has discredited the legal, political and electoral system, has demonized the press and has targeted vulnerable members of society, minorities and immigrants, as scapegoats. With questionable historic comparisons, Trump’s critics only fuel his bid to provoke the outrage that is essential to his political appeal. Nikki Haley have only criticized Trump obliquely, understanding there’s no market in the modern Republican Party for confronting Trump’s lawlessness.

Many of the GOP presidential candidates say they would carry out potential acts of war against Mexico in response to the trafficking of fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador repeatedly denies his country is producing the synthetic opioid despite enormous evidence to the contrary. Border agents seized nearly 13 tons (12,000 kilograms) of fentanyl at the U.S.-Mexico border between September 2022 and August, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. "As commander in chief, I’m going to use the U.S. military to go after the Mexican drug cartels,” said DeSantis, the Florida governor. CNN —Republicans are enraged that their safe space was punctured at the second GOP debate by a Univision anchor. After welcoming viewers in Spanish (the debate was simulcast on Univision), Calderón queried the Republicans through the night on weighty issues related to immigration, hate crimes, health care, and more. But unlike what is typical on Fox News, Calderón declined to frame her questions in a manner favorable for the Republican candidates. “The Univision anchor’s questions seem to come from the comments section of Salon and Vox,” talk radio host Buck Sexton said. “I think the Univision lady thinks she’s at a Democratic Debate,” Fox News commenter Tomi Lahren added.

About half of US Latinos who don’t speak Spanish have been shamed because of it, the study says, noting that 54% of Latinos who speak no more than a little Spanish say another Latino has made them feel bad for it. “There’s a subtle but ongoing shift in the share of Latinos who speak Spanish at home,” Lopez says. “I don’t know how he knows what I said on Univision, because he doesn’t speak Spanish.” Cruz fired back – in Spanish – and the debate continued. Trump has said he plans to skip the first Republican debate on Aug. 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The second debate will be held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation in Simi Valley, California on Sept. 27 and be partnered with Univision and Rumble, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement. Due to its reasonable balance sheet, solid management and defense tailwinds, Gabelli said investors can make 50% on their investment in two years' time. Finally, Gabelli highlighted Grupo Televisa SAB , a Latin American media company based in Mexico. The 92-year-old tycoon revealed he’s engaged to marry Ann Lesley Smith in an article published Monday in the New York Post, one of his own publications. Smith was previously married to Chester Smith, a country singer and radio and TV executive, who died in 2008. Murdoch was previously married to former flight attendant Patricia Booker, journalist Anna Murdoch and entrepreneur Wendi Deng. MEXICO CITY, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Grupo Televisa , Mexico's largest broadcaster, reported on Thursday a net loss in the fourth quarter of 13.75 billion pesos ($705 million), hurt by losses related to TelevisaUnivison and declines in its satellite TV unit. The result compares with a net profit of 3.7 billion pesos in the year-earlier period, according to a statement filed with the Mexican stock exchange. The company's revenue increased 1.6% from the year-earlier period to 19.13 billion pesos, slightly missing the Refinitiv forecast of 19.28 billion pesos. Televisa has tried to revamp Sky, launching a new mobile service with AT&T in July which executives said would boost the unit's revenue in the coming years. Mexico's Megacable in December rejected an offer by Televisa to merge the companies' pay TV and broadband operations.
