Tech companies that source a large part of their supplies from China could suffer under a second Trump term, according to Citi. Citi analyst Atif Malik shared a basket of stocks that have China manufacturing exposure and could therefore face ramifications going forward. While the company has a very high exposure to Chinese manufacturing, Malik said that Apple is currently making efforts to diversify its supply chain. "China is the main manufacturing location for Apple with more than 90% manufacturing in China, in our estimates," the analyst said. "Manufacturing is primarily conducted through contract manufacturers and original design manufacturers with manufacturing locations in China, Malaysia, Mexico, Taiwan, and Vietnam," he added.

The small cap Russell 2000 index contains domestic companies that should benefit in a protectionist, on-shoring environment as long as inflation and rates stay contained. The monthly chart of the Russell 2000 shows a pending breakout from all-time highs of 2,459. Put in simpler terms the Russell 2000 small cap index has underperformed the large cap S & P 500 index for the past 13 years. The small cap Industrial ETF just broke from a consolidation around $135 and is still in the earlier stages of the expansion. The forward valuation is 28 times 2025 earnings so not egregious for this high growth small cap industrial name.

President-elect Donald Trump's return to the White House has sent ripples through global financial markets, with many investors looking to recalibrate their portfolios for a dramatically different policy landscape ahead. Higher Treasury yields mean higher interest rates for corporate borrowers. Trump's tariffs Perhaps the biggest concern for investors globally is Trump's campaign promise of aggressive new tariffs , including the potential for a universal 10% tariff on all imports and a 60% tariff on Chinese goods. However, some Asian nations might benefit if higher tariffs on China prompt manufacturers to relocate. Europe Most analysts agree that U.S. trade tariffs are likely to hurt Europe, with some companies able to navigate the challenges better than others.

In a Friday note, Berezin increased the probability of an economic recession to 75% from 65%, citing the risk of a new trade war under Trump. On the campaign trail, Trump proposed implementing universal tariffs of 10%-20% on goods imported into the country and a 60% tariff on goods from China. Berezin cited a study from the Budget Lab at Yale that estimates Trump's proposed tariffs could reduce real disposable income for the median US household by $1,900-$7,600.

AdvertisementA key sticking point for the 73,479,065 Americans (and counting) who voted for President-elect Donald Trump was inflation. Inflationary promisesThe main Trump proposals viewed as inflationary are: sweeping tariffs on imports, mass deportation of immigrants, and lower taxes. Related storiesTypically, US companies simply pass the tariff costs to consumers via higher prices, and company executives are already signaling this to investors. Possible inflation falloutIf Trump delivers on all of these proposals, then a rebound in inflation is all but guaranteed, economists have said. AdvertisementIt's worth noting that the tariffs Trump enacted in his first term did not result in a significant inflation increase.

On average, over the 20 weeks The Breakthrough survey was fielded this year, roughly 76% of US adults said weekly they’d heard at least some news about Trump. In the 15 full weeks of data following Harris’ entry into the race, a slightly smaller share – about 71% on average – said they’d heard something about her. Sentiments expressed by political independents when talking about the news surrounding Trump were negative throughout the campaign. Their sentiment when discussing what they’d heard about Harris, which was close to neutral at the start of her candidacy, declined modestly throughout the fall, undercutting her advantage over Trump on that metric.

Incumbent governments have been punished in Britain, France, India, Japan, South Korea, and elsewhere. The near-universal shift away from Democrats echoes voters' rejection of incumbent political parties across the world this year. South Africa's African National Congress (ANC) party lost its majority. Similarly, Deutsche Bank's Reid wrote that voters are disappointed by how slowly their lives are improving amid cooler economic growth. He said they don't buy that incumbents can tackle immigration, some incumbent governments have had scandals, and voters have become "much more willing to change their vote from election to election."

"Arcane," a television adaptation of Riot Games' "League of Legends," is back on Netflix. The gig was at Riot Games, a young video game company founded in 2006 that had launched its debut title "League of Legends" the year before. Film and television isn't Riot Games' primary business; video games like "League of Legends" are. A genuinely good television series like "Arcane" not only engages current players who may spend money on in-game cosmetics, but brings new eyes to the franchise. The real-life cosmetics, like the "Arcane" season two drop with Fenty Beauty, probably don't hurt either.

These "Wicked" collaborations cross the spectrum from apparel, accessories, footwear, beauty and costumes all the way to home decor, toys and even one-of-a-kind cars. Universal 's theatrical retelling of the famed Broadway musical is creating buzz ahead of its Nov. 22 release with hundreds of merchandise offerings from dozens of retail partners. "Barbie" painted the town pink in 2023, and now "Wicked" is upping the ante by adding a splash of green. The report, which surveyed 2,000 adults in the U.S., also determined that fandom collaborations and partnered releases are most successful among niche super-fandoms. What could also drive demand is the fact that these merchandise collaborations are limited-time only.
