Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London CNN —On an unseasonably warm autumnal morning in East London, Mary Beth Schumen and her husband have made an early start to their Sunday. Yet on London’s underground, the Schumens are not the only ones in Bills blue. “It’s another feeling to be live in the stadium,” he tells CNN Sport in anticipation of his third London-based NFL game. Fireworks light up the sky before the start of the second international NFL game of the 2023 season. Ultimately, it was back-to-back London wins for the Jaguars who are now, like the Bills, 3-2 for the season.

CNN —To many, the southern Dalmatian coast is Croatia. The Adriatic coast is undeniably beautiful, with the forbidding Dinaric Alps as a dramatic backdrop to the heavily indented coastline and dozens of islands scattered about. Until 2022, reaching it from the north meant crossing into Bosnia, whose 12.4 miles of coastline sits below the Neretva delta, before giving way once more to Croatia’s southern Dalmatian coast. CNN —Closed to the public for more than a decade, the stunning Zeyrek Çinili Hamam has just reopened its wooden doors to the world. A team of archaeologists and historians at the hamam helped those institutions to identify exactly where their Iznik tiles came from. Ottoman know-how and seamless minimalism come together inside the Çinili Hamam to create the ultimate zone-out space. The glass stars on the domed ceilings (a signature of Ottoman hamam design) allow just enough natural light to shimmer in, but not so much that it dazzles. Yazgan says the Zeyrek Çinili Hamam will closely replicate time-honored Ottoman bathtime traditions.

ARRIVE BY SEA Most visitors reach the Bissagos by boat from Bissau, the country’s capital. Photo: Alamy Stock PhotoAS A STRANGER carrying a plate of grilled fish approached me on the beach, slight annoyance pricked in my gut. My day on Bubaque, an island in the Bissagos archipelago of Guinea-Bissau in West Africa, had started with a bike ride through a forest of cashew trees, where I snacked on the custardy fruit plucked from the branches. Now I was sipping a beer as turquoise water sloshed over my feet. I didn’t feel like haggling over a fish.

The Philippines coastguard said the mission, approved by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, showed its determination to maintain a presence at the shoal. Located in the middle of the South China Sea and near shipping lanes carrying an estimated $3.4 trillion of annual commerce, its position is strategic for Beijing. A landmark 2016 ruling on the South China Sea by the Permanent Court of Arbitration, which went largely in favour of the Philippines, was not tasked with establishing sovereignty. China has not acknowledged the presence of militia in the South China Sea. The Pentagon stated mutual defence commitments would be invoked over an attack "anywhere in the South China Sea" and that coastguard vessels are among those protected.

But I was recently persuaded to book a cruise vacation — and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I wouldn't write off going on another cruise, but I think I prefer planning my own trips. By Enrico Dela CruzMANILA (Reuters) -The Philippines said on Monday it executed a "special operation" to remove a floating barrier installed by China at a prime fishing patch in the South China Sea, a move that could stoke tension after a years-long detente in Asia's most disputed waters. Hours after the national security adviser had vowed to take action, the Philippine coastguard said it had removed the floating cordon, at the behest of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr and his special task force on the South China Sea. Japan's government urged calm and said the South China Sea was central to regional stability. "Our country strongly opposes any conduct that heightens tension in the South China Sea," Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said at a regular press conference. China on Monday said the shoal, which it calls Huangyan Island, was "China's inherent territory", over which it had indisputable sovereignty.

NICE, France, Sept 15 (Reuters) - A new policy from World Rugby will see old foes clash in new kits at the World Cup in France to help fans with colour vision deficiency (CVD) distinguish between the teams. World Rugby said one in 12 males, including the organisation's chairman Bill Beaumont, and one in 200 females live with CVD to varying degrees and to accommodate them certain colour combinations will not be allowed at the tournament. Australia will also don an unfamiliar white kit when they take on Portugal in Saint-Etienne on Oct. 1. "An estimated 300 million people live with some form of CVD, which can impact their day-to-day life in a variety of ways through being unable to see or differentiate certain colour combinations," World Rugby said in a statement. Kit combinations at the World Cup were also decided based on the potential for those taking part in games living with CVD.

5 Hot Springs in Iceland That Aren’t the Blue Lagoon

The Zheng brothers had stumbled onto the most Icelandic of experiences. With more than 600 natural hot springs, the volcanic island gets the better part of its heat and energy from geothermal sources. Of course, visitors like a good soak as well, a predilection that has helped make the milky turquoise waters of the Blue Lagoon, near the Keflavik airport, Iceland’s most popular tourist attraction. Luckily, there are numerous other outdoor geothermal pools in the neighborhood. All of these are within an hour or so by car from Reykjavik, and each has its own personality.

Vacations often come with surprise expenses — cruises are a great value and make it easy to know exactly how much you'll spend in advance, and my Virgin Voyages cruise was a great value. While the cruise ship itself offered plenty to see and do, I thought the four included stops were some of the best I have ever visited on a cruise. Finally, we loved the inclusiveness the Virgin Voyages brand builds into their cruise product, which helped make the cruise more carefree and fun. Now all I have to do is start planning how we'll spend days in port on our next Virgin Voyages cruise in February.

On a drizzly August morning, Caroline Kennedy waded into the turquoise waters between two deserted islands in the South Pacific, trying not to scratch her feet on sprouts of coral. “Your father did this swim,” said her son, Jack Schlossberg. Together they stood in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands, facing a mile-long jaunt to an islet called Olasana — a place John F. As our hot, stuffy plane approached Bodrum, the seaside resort city on Turkey’s southwest coast, I closed my eyes and imagined a cool plunge into the crystalline turquoise waters of the Aegean. It was late July, and I was going home for vacation, despite warnings about the record heat. Southern Turkey is always hot in the summer, but the thought of sea breezes and swimming made it seem a desirable destination — especially after spending the last month in a heat wave in Geneva where air-conditioning is all but banned. My 1-year-old immediately started crying and other passengers gasped as they rushed to the bus that would take us to the terminal. “There was nowhere to escape, we were under attack and had no choice but to go back to the A.C. in our villas,” he said.

CNN —Researchers have reassembled an ancient ornate necklace discovered in the grave of a child who lived in the Neolithic village of Ba’ja in what’s now southern Jordan. More than 2,500 colorful stone and shell beads were found in the grave, which was dated between 7400 and 6800 BC. In 2018, researchers discovered the grave of an 8-year-old child buried in a fetal position. Instead, researchers focused on the beads and the story they might tell about the child as well as Neolithic funerary practices. In interviews with Reuters, some community leaders said they would demand more profits be channeled their way, while others said they would resist any new lithium mining at all. Boric's plan envisions expanding mining with public-private partnerships controlled by a new state lithium company. Both Espindola and Mondaca said a majority of community members oppose expanded lithium mining in the region. It said it takes relationships with Indigenous communities seriously and that is why Boric met with them in person.
