Let's be real: It's all on the line for Nikki Haley in next week’s Republican primary in the Granite State. If the former South Carolina governor can't win in New Hampshire, I'm not sure where she can win. (This has historically been the case, and, no, registered Democrats can't vote in the primary, unlike what Trump has said.) New Hampshire Republicans tend to be on the relatively wealthy side compared to other Republican primary electorates. It's more to say that Haley has no real statistical argument for how she can win the nomination if she can't win in New Hampshire.

The US military launched further strikes on the Houthi rebels in Yemen overnight Friday into Saturday local time, taking out a radar site after striking nearly 30 locations Thursday evening in a joint US-UK effort. US President Joe Biden said he ordered the strikes "in direct response" to the rebels' attacks on commercial shipping vessels in the Red Sea, which the group says are aimed at pressuring Israel into ceasing its heavy bombardment of Gaza. US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield told the UN Security Council Friday the strikes were intended to "restore stability in the Red Sea," despite repeated warning from the Houthis of retaliation — and fears of the conflict in Gaza further spreading throughout the Middle East. CNN —The shooting of three Palestinian college students in Vermont has prompted calls for the suspect to be charged with a hate crime. “When you add a hate crime enhancement that changes things,” George said at a news conference Monday. Crimes based on gender identity accounted for 4% of hate crimes, 1.5% were based on disability and less than 1% on gender. The Justice Department began prosecuting federal hate crime cases after the Civil Rights Act of 1968 was signed into law. Their murders shocked the nation and later moved Congress to pass a new hate crimes statute.

Remember: Fighting between Israel and the Iran-backed paramilitary group Hezbollah is centered on northern Israel and southern Lebanon — separate from Israel's fighting with Hamas further south, which is centered around Gaza. If the House passes the bill, the Senate will next need to approve the measure. Government funding is currently set to expire at the end of the week on Friday, November 17. In the first major test of his leadership, newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson is pursuing an unusual two-step plan that would set up two new shutdown deadlines in January and February. The conservative House Freedom Caucus, a group of roughly 30 hardliners, has taken an official position against Johnson’s two-part government funding plan. A number of conservatives oppose the stopgap bill because it would not implement the deep spending cuts they have demanded.

In the 16 months since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, six states have held direct votes on the future of abortion rights within their borders. And on six occasions, the pro-abortion rights side has prevailed — including in traditionally conservative states like Kentucky. Virginia: “There’s not like a referendum question on the ballot, but it is on the ballot,” Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine told CNN after a backyard rally for Democratic state legislative candidates in September. Though Virginia is now reliably blue in presidential races, its local races are a fierce battleground. Virginia’s off-off-year local elections — held a year after federal midterm elections and featuring no statewide contests — are famously difficult to predict.

As of now, neither House Majority Leader Steve Scalise nor Rep. Jim Jordan – the two declared GOP candidates in the race – have locked down 217 votes, the necessary number to be elected speaker by a majority vote of the full chamber. The uncertain vote math has raised questions over how and when the GOP majority will be able to elect a new speaker, particularly as infighting continues to roil House Republican ranks. “I’d put it at 2%,” he said when asked by a reporter what the chances are there will be a new House speaker by Wednesday. Making mistakes doesn't feel great, but they can provide some lessons you might not have learned otherwise. We asked this year's rising stars of Wall Street to open up about the biggest missteps of their careers so far and what they took away from them. Some shared their rookie errors — like slamming their laptop shut after forgetting to save their first big pitch deck or duplicating a trade — while others gave more reflective answers about how early career mistakes impacted their paths. We've got to iterate and change how we do things, and I think that's helped our team's process a lot. So my mistakes also brought me here, and everything that has been a mistake is always a learning experience.

Attorney General Merrick Garland said he was not instructed to charge Donald Trump with federal crimes, pushing back against comments made by the former president over the weekend. Trump told NBC that the charges he’s facing as part of special counsel Jack Smith’s classified documents and election interference probes are “Biden political indictments,” and that Biden “said to the attorney general ‘indict him.’”Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California asked Garland to respond to the allegation, “Was [Trump] telling the truth or was he lying when he said the president told you to indict him?”“No one has told me to indict,” Garland said, “and in this case the decision to indict was made by the special counsel.”“So that statement the president made on Sunday was false,” Schiff asked. Garland again repeated that “no one has told me who should be indicted in any matter like this, and the decision about indictment was made by Mr. Smith,” referring to special counsel Jack Smith.

To date, he has amassed 28 single- and multi-family homes that were worth over $28 million at their time of purchase. This is when the seller provides the loan, allowing the buyer to skip the bank and instead give the monthly payment with interest to the seller. In this instance, the lender will provide the down payment in exchange for either equity in the deal or monthly payments over time. If he has an $8,000 return, he must deduct $5,000 on mortgage payments. He determines this by dividing the total monthly operating costs, including utilities, maintenance, property taxes, home insurance, and property management fees (not including mortgage payments) by the total monthly income.
