We gave my son an unusual first name and a common second name. After that experience, I swore I would never saddle my own kids with unusual names. He was called Alex by everyone for many years. When he returned home, he announced that he would rather not be called Alex anymore. He has fully embraced his first name for more than 20 years now, and we tend to forget he was ever called Alex.

Over a decade ago, a Wall Street banker bought a coal mine to sell coal. Turns out, the mine contains rare earth elements that could be worth tens of billions of dollars. In May, Ramaco announced that Atkins' Brook Mine contains one of the largest unconventional deposits of rare earth elements in the US. Early this year, the White House announced it plans to invest $32 million in domestic rare earth and other mineral projects.
