“Hard Knocks” is a docuseries that focuses on a single NFL team as it prepares for the upcoming NFL season. F1 is already a dangerous and exciting sport on its own, but “Drive to Survive” transforms it into a soap opera. By the end, hopefully, they’re consuming the product; in this case, actually watching the live sport. But his strength on the field isn’t why Travis Kelce is a household name. In last season’s Super Bowl, Travis Kelce went head-to-head against brother Jason Kelce, when the Chiefs faced the Philadelphia Eagles.

(AP) — The deposition in the civil lawsuit against retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre surrounding Mississippi's welfare scandal has been pushed back at the request of the athlete's attorneys, a court document shows. The Pro Football Hall of Famer is among more than three dozen defendants in a lawsuit the state Human Services director filed to recover some of the welfare money. Favre has denied wrongdoing, sued the state auditor who investigated the misspending for defamation and said he paid back misspent welfare funds. A subsequent court document filed Friday shows the hearing has been rescheduled for Dec. 11 based on a request by Favre's lawyers. Another $1.7 million went to develop a concussion treatment drug investigators have said Favre supported.

The data in support of a college education is strong. So it can be increasingly difficult to determine if a college education is worth it. For many, a college degree is 'an insurance policy'With the statistical outcomes for college graduates so strong, it can be jarring for parents to face a child who tells them they don't want to go. "For many people, [a bachelor's degree] is an insurance policy." 'Look at college as a consumer'Earning your bachelor's degree is often expensive, which scares off a lot of students.

The National Football League on Thursday responded to a recent report that pointed out its ads were placed on white nationalist feeds on Elon Musk's social media platform, X. "NFL unequivocally denounces any form of hate speech and has absolutely no association with these individuals or any group that promotes racism," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk. The NFL did not indicate if they would pull ads from the platform, or if X would remove the ads from the white nationalist accounts. Media Matters found five white nationalist accounts, with a total of 1 million followers, where NFL ads appeared. NEW YORK (AP) — Taylor Swift's trip to watch the Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce play football on Sunday didn't just have the internet talking nonstop. Following the 12-time Grammy Award winner's appearance at Arrowhead Stadium, jersey sales for the All-Pro tight-end seemingly skyrocketed. Kelce did not speak to reporters afterward, but he was spotted leaving Arrowhead with Swift by his side. In a later appearance on the “The Pat McAfee Show,” Kelce revealed that he invited Swift to watch him play. Beyond jersey sales, the NFL has also met the internet hype of Swift's trip to Arrowhead.

Lawyers representing the couple also said the Tuohys would enter into a consent order to end the conservatorship. But Oher’s conservatorship was approved “despite the fact that he was over 18 years old and had no diagnosed physical or psychological disabilities,” his petition said. The Tuoys' filing said Oher referred to them as “mom” and dad," and they occasionally referred to Oher as a son. Agents negotiated a small advance for the Tuohys from the production company for “The Blind Side,” based on a book written by Sean Tuohy’s friend Michael Lewis, the couple’s lawyers have said. The attorneys said they estimated each of the Tuohys and Oher received $100,000 apiece, and the couple paid taxes on Oher’s portion for him.

The NFL is everywhere and insufferable. I offer this as high praise: Roger Goodell’s pro football concern is this nation’s most pervasive, potent entertainment product, smothering all other American hobbies, holidays, sports, TV shows, and movies. Sweaty old football is the only content left which can compete with Taylor Swift, who, it should be noted, borrowed a loop of NFL stadia for her rocking sellout tour.

There is no English noun that adequately conveys what millions of fans experience on the eve of the pro football season. This year, alas, my sense of tranquillity is being threatened by the N.F.L.’s decision to change the rules governing kickoffs. After a fair catch, the ball will be placed on the 25-yard line (just as it would after a traditional “touchback” in the end zone). This new rule, adopted in the name of player safety, is the latest and most drastic in a series of changes that the N.F.L. has made to the kickoff in recent years, in what seems to be a prelude to eliminating it altogether.
CNN —Pro Football Hall of Famer Gil Brandt, widely regarded as the architect who helped build the Dallas Cowboys into one of the most successful and popular sports franchises of all time, died on Thursday, according to the Cowboys. After a six-decade NFL executive career – 29 years with the Cowboys – Brandt was inducted into the Hall in 2019. As the vice president of player personnel for the Cowboys, Brandt was lauded for his acute ability to recognize player talent – having drafted nine Cowboys players who, like Brandt, are Pro Football Hall of Famers. Brandt is also credited in helping build the annual player draft into a three-day, made-for-TV event. The result was discovering future Cowboys from smaller colleges, or even off college basketball or track teams,” said Pro Football Hall of Fame President Jim Porter.

Executives at the Hall, the league and the networks looked at ways to speed up the ceremony. None of the options were used, though, because they might embarrass the speakers, said Rich Desrosiers, a spokesman for the Hall. One solution was to enlist Jezra Kaye, a professional writing coach, in 2021 to work with inductees on improving — and shortening — their speeches. Kaye, a former jazz singer and romance novel writer living in Brooklyn, said it doesn’t matter that she knows next to nothing about football. “Anyone who doesn’t use a speech coach in this situation is an idiot,” he said.

His family announced his death on Friday on Instagram. Playing for the Browns from 1957 to 1965 after earning all-American honors at Syracuse University in football and lacrosse, Brown helped take Cleveland to the 1964 National Football League championship. In any game, he dragged defenders when he wasn’t running over them or flattening them with a stiff arm. He eluded them with his footwork when he wasn’t sweeping around ends and outrunning them. He never missed a game, piercing defensive lines in 118 consecutive regular-season games, though he played one year with a broken toe and another with a sprained wrist.
