The phones are the first capable of running Huawei's new operating system called HarmonyOS NEXT. The Mate 70 is the successor of the Mate 60, which was released last year and sent shockwaves through the tech and political worlds. Huawei was separated from Google's Android operating system in 2019, forcing the Chinese tech giant to develop its own software. The Mate 70 series comes in three varieties — the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro and Mate 70 Pro+. The Mate 70 starts at 5,499 ($759) Chinese yuan, while the Mate 70 Pro+ starts at 8,499 yuan.

CNN —A 13-year-old Indian cricketer made history on Monday as he became the youngest player ever to have his rights purchased at the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. The rights to Vaibhav Suryavanshi were bought for 11 million Indian rupees (around $130,000) to the Rajasthan Royals after a bidding spree between the Royals and the Delhi Capitals forced his price up. She was the backup to Solo during the team’s 2015 Women’s World Cup victory and then played every minute of the title defense four years later, conceding only three goals during the tournament. OpenAI is allowing employees to sell roughly $1.5 billion worth of shares in a new tender offer to SoftBank, CNBC has learned. Employees will have until Dec. 24 to decide if they want to participate in the new tender offer, which has not previously been reported, one of the people said. The tender offer is not related to OpenAI's potential plans to restructure the firm to a for-profit business, one of the people said. The OpenAI investment matches SoftBank's eagerness to deploy cash, with a capital-intensive business model, a person close to Son told CNBC. The company also received a $4 billion revolving line of credit, bringing its total liquidity to more than $10 billion.

A federal judge ruled Monday that a volleyball player for the San Jose State University women's team, who is at the center of controversy about transgender athletes, can compete in this week's conference tournament. Judge S. Kato Crews, with the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, denied the emergency motion for a preliminary injunction filed this month against the Mountain West Conference. "San José State University will continue to support its student-athletes and reject discrimination in all forms," the university said said. "All San José State University student-athletes are eligible to participate in their sports under NCAA and Mountain West Conference rules." Rico Carty, who won the 1970 NL batting title when he hit a major league-best .366 for the Atlanta Braves, has died. Major League Baseball, the players’ association and the Braves paid tribute to Carty on social media on Sunday. A family friend told Listín Diario — a newspaper in Carty’s native Dominican Republic — that he died Saturday night in an Atlanta hospital. The Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta after the 1965 season, and Carty got the franchise’s first hit in its new home on April 12, 1966, against Pittsburgh. Carty had his best year in 1970, batting .366 with 25 homers and a career-best 101 RBIs.

This isn't the first time Mahomes has been fined for unsportsmanlike conduct during a game against the Buffalo Bills. Last December, he was fined $50,000 for yelling at and criticizing officials during a game. Mahomes accepted the consequences of his actions and said he would learn from the decision, ESPN reported.
