"Its monetized crypto offering is significantly more robust than traditional retail brokerage peers, with over 15 tokens available to trade," the analyst wrote of Robinhood. Still, Moley's $30 price target on Robinhood is only a fraction above where the stock closed Thursday. Moley's $250 price target implies that CME stock could add another 13% over the next 12 months. Moley's $35 price target is nearly 5% higher than where the stock closed on Thursday. Shares of Cboe have added 12% this year, trailing the broader market, and Moley's $220 price target implies an additional 9% upside.

Twelve students at Salisbury University in Maryland have been charged with hate crimes after they allegedly targeted a man over his sexual preferences by inviting him to an off-campus apartment where they beat him and used derogatory names, police said. Police said they were contacted by the Salisbury University police department on Oct. 31 about an assault that allegedly occurred in an off-campus apartment complex for college-aged students. Salisbury University President Carolyn Ringer Lepre wrote on X that the students arrested have been placed on suspension, which includes being restricted from campus and barred from academic coursework. “It’s very unfortunate that Salisbury University has jumped to conclusions by suspending these young men before there has been any findings related to this incident,” he said.

Police are still searching for 43 monkeys that escaped from a research facility in South Carolina on Wednesday, as the head of the company revealed that the outbreak happened when a staff member failed to secure a door properly. Police in Yemassee, Beaufort County, confirmed Thursday night that the primates were in the wooded region surrounding the Alpha Genesis facility, in a rural area on the edge of Yamassee. Locals were urged to lock windows and doors and not to interact with the monkeys and instead call 911 immediately upon spotting any of the escaped primates. Alpha Genesis carries out medical research for a range of clients for several conditions, including brain disorders. Meanwhile, animal rights advocates have raised concerns over the ethics of using primates in medical research on such a scale.

Rafael was moving west across the Gulf of Mexico Friday morning as the first major hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico in November for almost 40 years, bringing the threat of life-threatening conditions to the southern United States coastline. Forecasters said the storm could cause dangerous surf and rip-tides across the whole Gulf region in the coming days, after causing havoc in Cuba where millions are still without power. ET Rafael was 585 miles east of the mouth of the Rio Grande with sustained wind speeds of 120 mph, making it a Category 3 hurricane, moving west at a rate of 9 mph, the National Hurricane Center said. Rafael is now tied with Hurricane Kate in 1985 as the strongest storms recorded in the Gulf. The storm is expected to weaken throughout the weekend, but it could still produce tropical storm-force winds — which is between 39 and 73 mph — up to 115 miles from its center.

A suspect was taken into custody Thursday after police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, said a teenager attempted to enter an area elementary school while potentially armed. According to authorities, a person attempted to enter Roosevelt Elementary School in Kenosha “with suspicious bags.” When confronted by school staff in the entryway of the building, the person fled the school into a nearby neighborhood, officials said. The school was placed on a “secure hold” and just after 2 p.m. Thursday, authorities said a 13-year-old was arrested. Surveillance footage released by Kenosha Police on Thursday appears to show a teen suspect in the thwarted elementary school shooting. “Today we experienced something that all school staff and families fear — a potential school shooting,” Kenosha Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Jeff Weiss said at the news conference, according to NBC affiliate station TMJ4.

WASHINGTON — Republicans are gearing up to lock in their remake of the judiciary under President-elect Donald Trump and a new Senate majority, including potentially installing several more conservative Supreme Court justices. Conservatives are prepared for Supreme Court retirements, with the most attention on Justice Samuel Alito, 74. GOP won't pursue Supreme Court ethics rulesTrump already transformed the federal courts in his first term, appointing 54 appeals court judges and 174 district court judges, many of whom are closely linked with the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group. Biden has made his own mark on the judiciary, appointing 210 district and appeals court judges in total, including 44 appeals court judges, falling just short of Trump’s total. “We’ll quit beating up the Supreme Court every time we don’t like the decision they make,” he said.

In today’s edition, senior national political reporter Jonathan Allen explains why Democrats need to retool their economic message during Donald Trump's second term. Plus, senior national politics reporter Matt Dixon writes that the battle to succeed Trump in four years is already underway. How Trump broke both parties — and where Democrats go from hereBy Jonathan AllenOver the course of the last decade, President-elect Donald Trump broke both national political parties. Before Trump, Democrats nominated — and the country twice elected — Barack Obama, a candidate who ran against leaders that walked the country into forever wars and a finance-and-housing crisis that nearly toppled the economy. Harris’ economic policy offerings were largely expansions of Biden proposals, such as more generous homebuyer and child tax credits than he called for.

Our NFL writers addressed these topics and more in making one prediction for every team heading into the season’s second half. The fourth-year back is on pace to finish with 1,256 yards, which would be the fourth-highest total in team history. Every other NFL team has put a player in at least one of those categories during that stretch — and most teams have checked both boxes. Minnesota has one of the most productive defenses in the NFL and an offense loaded at the skill positions. And the Eagles have managed to win games despite bad luck and bad decisions.

CNN —Donald Trump believes presidents have almost absolute power. In his second term, there will be few political or legal restraints to check him. It’s not guaranteed that just because Trump has massive power he will spurn constitutional checks and balances. No other president has come into office armed with a Supreme Court ruling that grants significant immunity to presidents for official acts. Attempts to prosecute Trump’s political foes on spurious grounds, meanwhile, could theoretically see mass resignations of Justice Department staff.

LGBT voters shifted even more solidly into the Democratic camp this year, according to the NBC News Exit Poll. Harris led President-elect Trump 86% to 12% among LGBT voters, the poll found. As in previous elections, LGBT voters stood out as one of the most left-leaning voter blocs in the electorate. Among LGBT voters, Democrats vastly outnumber Republicans, 56% to 5%, and liberals surpass conservatives, 61% to 5%. LGBT voters are staunchly pro-choice: 59% say abortion should be legal in all cases, a much higher level of support for abortion rights than among non-LGBTs, at 31%.

But the balance of the evidence from the NBC News Exit Poll suggests that Trump owes his victory to more common, less polarizing factors that drive many elections year in and year out. That included a striking shift of Latino voters into the GOP column compared with 2020 — they backed Trump by 13 points more. Women broke for Harris, 54%-44%, while men favored Trump, 54%-44% — a gap in support amounting to 22 percentage points. But in 2020, Trump performed even worse among women, losing them to Biden 57%-42%. A final factor favoring Trump: his appeal among Americans who are less attached to politics and elections:

Republican Bernie Moreno, a Colombian immigrant who became a high-profile Cleveland car dealer, has unseated Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, NBC News projects. Republicans flipped another Democratic-held seat in a state Trump carried easily, West Virginia, on Tuesday and were aiming to capture another in Montana. Moreno’s victory also ends, for now, the 50-year political career of Brown, first elected as a state representative in the post-Watergate era. For decades Brown had fashioned himself as an unapologetic liberal and progressive tightly aligned with working-class voters, particularly organized labor. The messaging strategy, rooted in Trump’s Buckeye State popularity, bolstered Moreno even as Brown and the Democrats sought to exploit his shortcomings.

Mr. Trump is widely regarded around the world as a transactional leader. Chinese officials do see a potential upside if Mr. Trump pulls the United States back from its role as a global leader. But the Kremlin seems skeptical that Mr. Trump would actually push for such a deal, especially because of his track record: There was jubilation in Moscow when Mr. Trump won in 2016, but over the next four years, U.S. sanctions against Russia only increased, and Mr. Trump sent antitank weapons to Ukraine. On Wednesday, he quickly made clear that he would seek to have Mr. Trump on his side, as one of the first world leaders to congratulate Mr. Trump in a post on X. Mr. Trump has been effective in demanding more military spending from fellow NATO members, said Mr. Heisbourg.

Luke Sharrett | Bloomberg | Getty ImagesU.S. oil producers are looking forward to less regulations on crude production under a Donald Trump presidency, meaning higher oil supply and consequently lower prices. At the same time, the increased likelihood of trade wars under Trump could dampen global economic growth and slow oil demand. "But medium-term downside risk to oil demand and thus oil prices from downside risk to global GDP from a potential escalation in trade tensions." watch nowTrump expressed his enthusiasm for increased U.S. oil production while giving a speech from the Republican campaign headquarters in Florida on Wednesday, just hours before his victory was confirmed. "The only thing that will cause drill baby drill to happen is higher oil prices based on these margins."

A white supremacist is accused of trying to destroy an electricity substation in Tennessee in an attempt to bring down the regional power network and disrupt American society, authorities said Monday. The theory was popularized by manifestos left by perpetrators in a number of high-profile neo-Nazi and white supremacist terrorist incidents, including the killing of 51 people at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2019. Philippi drove to an electricity substation, along with undercover FBI agents, to carry out reconnaissance, the bureau said. While driving, he ordered C-4 explosives from the undercover agents, and at a later date he bought black powder intended to be used in pipe bombs. Philippi was arrested on Nov. 2 by undercover agents acting as co-conspirators who had agreed to be lookouts.
