Patrick Drahi’s telecoms group is sitting on a $60 billion debt burden, and faces rising borrowing costs and a corruption investigation. Drahi will therefore need to sell assets to cut debt, which starts to come due in 2025. Both Altice France and Altice International are trying to sell their data centre businesses, which could raise some 700 million euros, bankers say. Yet Altice France alone has some $19 billion of debt coming due by 2029.

Fifteen employees have been put on leave in Portugal, France and the United States since news broke about the probe, which is currently limited to Portugal, said Drahi. Pressed by analysts on the call to lay out the role and extent of Pereira's involvement within the Altice group, Drahi said Pereira, whom he hired in 2003, had not held any stake in any Altice entity since 2005. Altice International, the entity that owns telecoms firm PT Portugal, is owned by Drahi's personal holding Next. The other two entities are Altice USA and Altice France, home to France's second biggest telecoms firm SFR. The debt has come under further pressure since Pereira's July detention, with longer-term debt issued by Altice France trading around 80 cents to the euro while those of Altice France Holding trade around 40 cents to the euro.

Once Souza posted videos and pictures on social media of his food deliveries and the street dogs, donations started to flood in. "I had more than 700 kilograms (1,543 lb) of dog food in my living room," said Souza, who has Ruby's name tattooed on his forearm. "This help from Miguel - donating food, water, time and encouraging others to donate - I think is very cool," she said.

LISBON, June 27 (Reuters) - Brazil aims to pass a regulatory framework for offshore wind and green hydrogen by the end of this year, the country's energy minister told Reuters on Tuesday, as Latin America's largest nation seeks to unlock new sectors to power its energy transition. With a floor of 16 billion reais, the auction could unlock 200 billion reais ($41.79 billion) in investments, he said. Currently, Brazil has no legislation in place to regulate offshore wind and green hydrogen. In early January, Brazil's government issued a decree that opened space for the development of offshore wind power generation in the country. "Green hydrogen is a real possibility for us to greatly expand our position in clean and renewable energy," he said.

CNN —Two more suspects have been named in the alleged murders of British journalist Dom Phillips and indigenous expert Bruno Pereira, including the alleged mastermind of the crime, Brazilian police say. Phillips and Pereira were shot dead a year ago while they were returning from a reporting trip in the Amazon.
