– Thank you, Cathryn, San Francisco We certainly understand and agree it's becoming increasingly difficult to maintain a diversified portfolio that's not dominated by technology stocks. There are also what many investors would think of as tech companies in S & P 500 Communication Services , at an 8.6% weighting. After all, we would say Meta, Alphabet and Amazon are as much tech companies as Apple or Microsoft, with all three considered leaders in artificial intelligence. These are industrial technology companies, not the industrial companies of old. So, using some of the examples provided in the question: Yes, Microsoft and Apple are both considered Information Technology companies.

The initial post-earnings decline in Zscaler (ZS) shares opened the door for investors to soon buy the cybersecurity stock, CNBC's Jim Cramer said Tuesday. "When the smoke clears ... go back in because cybersecurity is still the hottest area in the U.S. economy," Cramer said on "Squawk on the Street." Shares of Zscaler were about flat around noon ET at $191 each, well off their lows earlier in the session. However, Cramer said investors were disappointed, in part, by a 37% quarter-over-quarter decline in total billings growth. For Zscaler, Cramer said he's also looking past the billings metrics and more focused on the long-term opportunity for the company because digital security threats remain abundant.

The stock market this year has been led by just a handful of the biggest and best tech companies. Just look at the S & P 500 market-cap weighted index, which is viewed as a barometer of the overall stock market. Compare that to the much smaller 3% year-to-date increase in the S & P 500 equal-weight index, which treats each company's stocks the same regardless of market value. It's hard to turn off the monitors and wait for your seven stocks to come back after a terrible year. [1/3] A redacted online resume of a North Korean IT worker is shown in this screenshot of a report obtained by Reuters on November 20, 2023. The documents contain dozens of fraudulent resumes, online profiles, interview notes, and forged identities that North Korean workers used to apply for jobs in software development. Some of the scripts, designed to prepare the workers for interview questions, contain excuses for the need to work remotely. North Korean developers working at U.S. companies had hidden behind pseudonymous email and social media accounts and generated millions of dollars a year on behalf of sanctioned North Korean entities through the scheme, the DOJ said. The researchers, part of Palo Alto's Unit 42 cyber research division, made the discovery when examining a campaign by North Korean hackers that targeted software developers.
