CNN —Shares of Fisker, a California-based electric vehicle startup, were halted Monday. Its sole product, the Fisker Ocean electric SUV, was produced in Austria under contract by third-party manufacturer Magna Steyr. Last year, 10,000 SUVs were produced but, in its earnings report, the company said only about half had been delivered to customers. The video was titled, “This is the Worst Car I’ve Ever Reviewed.”“Do not buy this version of the Fisker Ocean,” reads the video’s description. But, besides its own quality issues, Fisker had to deal with much greater competition from established automakers than had existed when the company was established.

Boeing said on Friday that it was in talks to acquire Spirit AeroSystems, a struggling supplier that the manufacturer spun out nearly two decades ago and that makes the bodies of the 737 Max jet. In reabsorbing Spirit, Boeing would be seeking to rescue and restructure a troubled but important partner that has been battered by years of losses and quality control problems. Spirit’s problems have also at times limited how fast Boeing can produce Max planes, its most popular commercial jet. Bringing Spirit, one of the company’s key suppliers, back in house would be a significant strategic shift for Boeing, which has long relied on outsourcing to make its planes. On Tuesday, Navient announced plans to outsource servicing of its private student-loan portfolio and commercially held loans in the Federal Family Education Loan program to MOHELA, one of the largest federal student-loan servicers. AdvertisementA Navient spokesperson told Insider this change will impact 2.7 million student-loan borrowers with loans currently owned and serviced by Navient. Outsourcing servicing responsibility to MOHELA could spark concern for some borrowers, given how the company has fared since federal student-loan payments resumed in the fall. In January, the department withheld varying amounts of pay from the remaining federal servicers for the same reason. It's unclear how soon Navient borrowers will begin communications with MOHELA.
