Ohad Munder-Zichri is believed to be a hostage, along with his mother and grandparents, held by Hamas. Abbey Onn, an American who moved to Israel from Massachusetts eight years ago, said five of her extended family members are among those believed to have been kidnapped from a kibbutz called Nir Oz. She lost contact with them Saturday morning after learning from a family group chat that Hamas was in the kibbutz and that there had been gunshots. “The following day, we saw Hamas uploaded a video of their 12-year-old son being kidnapped,” said Onn, whose husband is Israeli. “My husband and I burst into tears when we saw it and since then, we’re just trying to connect to consulates and government and media to try to make sure that people understand that this is humanitarian and not political.”
